Bumped into this new drama by chance, am in the middle of episode one. Don't watch too many modern dramas since I love costume dramas more, but this one has caught me by surprise, I find the story down to earth as it started and yet intriguing, think I am walking into a nice surprise.

Came here after The Prisoner of Beauty. Am watching this drama again and annoying it. I am a fan of strong female lead in costume dramas and this one fits the bill. Love the cast and the story is refreshing.

So only 4 episodes left and there is no trailer of any of these remaining episodes, does it mean we'll have express package tomorrow?

A very pleasant surprise, I finished all episodes aired upto now in one go. The story is good, pacing is tight and insertions of flashbacks are nicely done, patching up and not dragging. The fight scenes are great to watch, too.The main leads are capable actor and actress, I have seen them in other costume dramas in the past. It is not another The prisoner of beauty but it takes my mind off it so much so that I look forward to new episodes due to air tomorrow.

everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion. the screen play has superseded the novel, the directing, casting, costumes are pure joy to watch. it is no doubt one of the most successful dramas in the recent time.

God, Just how many days I need to wait before I can watch this drama again without feeling just too damn familiar with every scene??There isnt any other drama being aired now that I feel the urge to follow ...I am truly a captive of this drama.

I like the leads but the storyline is really same old same old and the dubbings really put me off. Where did they get the make up artists, the costume designers? Did they want to show how bad they can be? I am sure if the leads could have a say in the production and storyline, they would have things done differently.

Same trope, similar styles and makeup, white hair male leads, similar costumes, the dubbing is irrateting too. Putting it on hold.

indeed, I don't know why the screenwriter who had done a great job for nearly the entire drama then dropped the ball in the final acts. There was so much to show,explain and yet solittle was delivered to give viewers a totally satisfactory ending.

Cut out shootings enough for 4 episodes, that is insane.

That's what I thought too, an adaption that is far more superiore that the original novel: addition of characters, new events and changes of sequence that made a very convincing, relatable pacing of the drama However it fails to satisfy viewers with a rushed ending and unnecessary deaths that the novel itself did not overlook. Rushed, superficial ending has always been the Achilles heel of Chinese dramas since the longest time, when will they ever learn...

I have watched many episodes more times than I can count, I then started the book which is superseded by the adaption in drama by a long short. I tried to move on to dramas currently aired now but they couldn't hold my attention. OMG...

Very entertaining indeed, to think that not all the generals are in the novel, and that scene, that event is not in the novel too, at least not up to chapter 109 which I am at now. Not even ZhaTao (the maid, whiwas supposed to marry Wei Liang in the drama).

totally understand, Besides rewatching, I have started reading the novel online (the adaptation in drama is way better, the creation of characters, the sequencing, new events are much more enjoyable and relatable). In addition, am also listening to that audio of the novel posted by a YouTube blogger..This is to say how much I am addicted to this drama, nothing else is of interest to me at this moment, not even legend of zang hai.

Totally understand. I am so reluctant to leave this drama that I have even started earnestly reading the novel, putting faces to the characters in the book. must say the screenplay is so so better.
