Love the start of the drama, moves quick, lovely costumes , directing on point, hope it will hold till the end. This drama came just when I began to feel bored. Great scheduling.
this is a very robust period drama both in story, cast, costumes, directing and cinematography. Excellent piece of work.I understand it is based on a novel, will look it up online after I finish watching the drama.
A drama that could have been wrapped up nicely in one season with 40 episodes top, but got divided into 2 parts for more investments payback (I guess) by adding fillers, dragging on and on. This drama follows the "unsuccess" of Lost you forever which ran brilliantly in season 1 but fell short in season 2.
So in lack of any worthy inspirations to prolong the drama, the screenwriter pulls up this ridiculous plot about her mother being poisoned by this former housekeeper of the male lead now in charge of his orphanage. The most nonsensical thing about this plot is the time frame, it clearly showed that the female lead is already of age when her mother was poisoned and to their words she died within a few months even though the FL married in exchange of the miraculous pill against the poison. On the other side we have the mother of the male lead who told him to look after the housekeeper when he was still a young boy when she passed away. So how come he was already a special envoy of the king when he went to the female lead's ex husband house a year after their marriage. Season one is an excellent piece of work, but this season two is a total wreck, they should have gone on with topping season one upto 40 episodes with a few but good plots and wrap up in one go rather than adding nonsensical, dragging episodes to add another 24 episodes season.
Pausing until the couple clears the never ending misunderstandings between them and join hands to face something new. The misunderstandings between them have been dragging far too long and boring,
Yep. Don't like either of those developments. Totally unnecessary. The drama needs to come from OUTSIDE the relationship…
exactly, there are plenty of stuff outside to work on, I would write and screenplay how furious the male lead is about the lock placed on the door keeping everyone inside the burning site, how he gets to the princess, this should have been played out with force right after the fire. But no, the writer chooses to play little meaningless scenes then the petty jealous acts by the boy after everyone literally escaped death...totally disappointing. I wish I could write in the official weibo page to voice my opinions. Lost you forever had a fantastic run with it first season but season two felt short for similar reasons. why in earth the cut Flourished peony season one short to make room for a this "non content" of season two..
just when I thought this drama was fast paced, introducing new elements/events, the quality of the screenplay now drops insisting on misunderstandings between the leads, turning a young, sweet boy into a petty jealous man, just how nonsensical can a screenplay be when the writer cannot step up to viewer's expectations.
I am taking a break from this drama and will come back when the situation takes a better turn, just can't take in all this unjustice, pain, desperation.
