It would've been so much better had the Empress Dowager been revealed to have not been the Emperor's bio mom and she wanted to put her own child (maybe the antagonistic brother who is her long lost son swapped for the actual child) but ended up accidentally killing her own daughter. So now she wants revenge for putting her son and daughter in danger... The reveal was so blindsiding even the SIL went oh dang lol But yeah kinda forgot the FL had loose screws and a love for playing dead at the last scene 🤣

I can completely understand your feelings because even I had wanted to give up around episode 5 mark, but I'm so glad I stuck around and just wanted to make sure everyone gets to that point before making their mind because that's when the actual story starts :)

Hey, it's in the spoiler above ^^

So the trailer show they have the whole CXZ in wheelchair arc. So I'm guess LMT would leave his ass in episode 19. She would meet up with her uncle like in the original and that's when CXZ finds her. She would reveal she's remembered everything and walk out.
That's when Ziyu would find her. She would initially be with Ziyu to find a stable spot for herself because she's still being targeted. Cue the angst train as CXZ believes she's with Ziyu when she's only trying to remember her past. Then she would eventually leave with her uncle. Ziyu would get married.
The Empress Dowager would try to get her daughter? married to CXZ but when she comes to visit him, he intentionally injures himself and goes in a wheelchair to get himself disqualified. LMT hears about it and rushes to him because he apparently gave her this super expensive medicine that is very hard to find. And that's how they'll reunite.

So pretty much following the novel, only LMT now knows who she is. I'm waiting for when CXZ realizes that she's Lu Wen.

I had seen the first 4 episodes and was a little disappointed at how they had made Cui Xing Zhou more comedic and less serious as compared to the novel. But I'm so glad that I didn't give up because WHAT IS THAT EPISODE 17!!!!!
They really did a speedrun of the amnesia arc and I'm soooo happy for it. I always felt how unfair the whole situation was for Liu Miantang and CXZ actually got off easy. But now that the cat's out of the bag, it is time to SUFFER YESSS

But seriously tho, they handled it so well. Because in the beginning, CXZ was always on guard against her and stayed one step ahead of her because of it. But now everyone on his side, including him, trust her and have become lax. This allowed LMT to secretly go out and confirm her doubts. Even the fact that the might CXZ, who was weary of her when she was just tying his robe, was sleeping so soundly in her bed that he didn't even realize she snuck out and had a whole moment of identity crises lol.

I do think they'll follow the original structure tho. Hmm adding my theories in the spoiler below.

Hmm because I did Shazam it multiple times and it picked up Henry Parsley & Simon James - Freeze for the first half, which it actually is.
But I couldn't find the song for the second half :/

Yup, he's been all growly and irritated without actually saying something. Additionally, XW wasn't someone she gelled with well in the past, so it's a given that she's on guard against him this time.
I do love the way ZLH handles XW and makes him oh so menacing and a man whose known helplessness and power.
But yeah, once he gets his head together, man really need to start TALKING and not glaring and making grunting noises at her and her companions. Doesn't exactly say ILY when your eyes are screaming bloody murder.
