I see what you're saying but still agree to disagree. When there's a will, there's a way. So what that he eradicated the bandits, the FL has been attacked like 5 time since the series started, it's not like there was anything guaranteeing her safety? And the fact that he was wearing a mask instead of telling her the truth once again it so infuriating. Yes. Changyu could have still gotten an arc if he left some protection behind but they failed anyway. I just wanted him to try harder to check in on her. After he plops dramatically in the snow completely misunderstanding the FL, he's like "well, ok, we're done" and goes on to do his marquis job. Then he finds out about her village being slaughtered and find her fallen from a cliff and saves her then but after he's like "I'm sure she's fine and safe in her village". It doesn't compute for me.
