Ngl... I don't really know what to make of the ending. I know this was different from the novel. But I firmly…
I just finished it and I'm really conflicted by the ending. It's heartbreaking in a way and it's not at the same time.
It does imply LJS spent his entire life missing RNZ and his dream family: Zaozao, Obsidian, LDY even though they were characters and he spent it entirely trying to recreate their world. He managed to do it but even that is bittersweet because they're not even the original versions, they're new versions programmed with data from his memories. For the sake of the amazing story and amazing chemistry between the characters and considering in the original material RNZ actually became real I would like to believe the NPCs will achieve sentience and will be able to share emotions with LJS beyond their programming.
We can take it as LJS and LQS (his name in the books) are the same person living in parallel universes where his life has different courses. You could say LJS's world is sadder but if he's reunited with his loved ones in the end it's not that sad.
I can draw parallels with my life where I fell in love with this story and these characters and even though they are not real, the emotions I have for them are real. They can't reciprocate but I'm ok with that, my life is richer because I experienced this story and it's a choice I'm happy to make. I do have loved ones in real life that I spend time with but I also have my own separate time that I choose to dedicate on exploring fictional worlds like this one. It mind be wrong in other people's life and I'm ok with that too.
The series was objectively bad due to the writing and editing. It was draggy, choppy, completely nonsensical and what in the face-off was the miracle of all miracles of plastic surgery that changes height, skin color and facial structure? I digress. Yes, this wasn't good but at the same time I enjoyed the atmosphere and Ken & Cheng Talu are pretty so they were nice to watch. But boy, did I hate the Din flashbacks. I hated them so much for stealing screentime from Cheng Talu. P.S. I really hope Alongkorn Chaovanaprecha will do something about that unibrow because it was burning my retinas while he was on screen.
The MC and ML are pretty fucked up and horrible but the story is super engaging. I also loved the cinematography. The cheating is so realistic to what I've seen happening in real life. I felt so bad for Pinjun, he didn't deserve that. I guess Jimmy didn't deserve it either but I found him as a character pretty repulsive. I think the rating is kind of unfair but I guess I kind of understand why people didn't enjoy watching a series about people so unlikable.
does the order of the doors here differs from the novel? or i'm just confused haha (currently reading the novel…
Yes, there are some differences. I haven't finished the series or the book yet because I'm reading a bit, then watching a bit, but 'Lady in the rain', for example, is sooner in the books than in the series.
is it possible that there will be normal subs in the future, or the machine generated is the only one?
Volunteers are slowly translating this but it will take a long time as those people either have school or jobs or both. You can find the links on the 'Recent Discussions' section, I believe 5 or 6 episodes have been translated so far.
