You should definitely watch! His character is so complex. Like you said he looks evil but he's charming as well. His portrayal makes you in awe of his talent at such a young age. Really worth it imo.

While TSL was airing, I think it was the first time I've ever watched the current ep and then immediately went back and rewatched my favorite parts. This series truly is a gem <3

I just wanted to take a moment and praise the writing on the sibling relationships. Qingkui is the best older sister anyone can ask for; kind, caring, selfless, nurturing, protective etc. Qingheng loving, supporting, admiring and respecting his older brother. The first time I witnessed such brotherly love was from Court Lady which I found surprising and was very fond of. Hope we see more of that in cdramaland <3

The thing is, I think she was going to let go around ep 32-33 but after the twins' powers were awaken, it went downhill from there. Qingkui dying was the last straw.

It's sad because he was really into her and if she could've let go, she'd be the heavenly empress. That's getting her just dues.

I've pushed through 10 eps and I'm angry at myself for wasting so much time. It's awful imo.

I agree. Romance/relationships, they vary and stories should not always follow one formula. It would get boring being so predictable. There's a reason SE stick with you longer or OE gets your imagination going.

Same. Royal Rumors was like back to the annoying tropes, slow pace and some cringe.

Same. I just watched the first ep of Royal Rumors and it was boring af! Made me really appreciate The Starry Love's everything <3

I agree, Lanjue seemed like a really great guy. I was glad Yetan was so direct but at the same time, I kinda ship them. Irl too, even though he's a lot older XD
