....much as I love how heartfelt CJM is in the opening scene, I'm dying to know what LSS thinks at that moment. She's relegated to the quiet listener role during that lengthy monologue, without any of her thoughts intruding CJM's. I suppose that will be the stuff of fanfics now...

The temptation and the trial of CJM should have been a strong episode, if not for perm guy spewing all that exposition. Idk if it's just my frame of mind now, but yeah, the too much exposition tired me out. But I do love the CJM vs SY and JM fight and this torture scene (at the same place Zhaoyou was tortured in ep1, btw), and what follows next.

If only for that blindfold scene, I'm very happy with it.😄

......the ep started ok enough, tho that's a lot of exposition comjng from CJM.😅 LYX's voice even sounds rushed and idk, bored(?) with that amount of exposition =I mean, it seems it doesn't have a lot of emotions since they're all explanations of stuff. Anyway. Moving on.
.........ADG IS BACK! Or so it seems. The look of awe on SY's face when she first thought it was ADG is so enchanting. Tho you'd kinda know it wasn't ADG at the rewatch since the voice doesn't sound bored enough, and it asked too many questions too so.... no wonder SY picked up on it. Idk about JM, but he really doesn't seem to be the brightest 😅

MN calling CJM devious is her calling the kettle black.🤪MN hinting how they'd use NBY is a hint that's sadly underused. (I mean, yeah, NBY does betray CJM later, but if he had interacted with MN, it would have made his actions more despicable😅 Plus, I want to see the look on his face when he sees YBC alive as a demon🤣)
.....GJW does NOT need such a dramatic bgm to emphasize his brokenheartedness.🤣
......MN is presented as a benevolent demon providing shelter for other demons. 🤢🤣 their meeting again scene could have worked better if one feels the chemistry between them. Sadly, they're paired against another two which more than made up for their slack🤣

Somewhere in this sea of comments someone said it's never xianxia without all those.
What matters is the delivery, and the people in that dream arc did it well (yes, TH included, evil tho she is.). Tho it may be boring, if you're not up for cgi fights especially, it is essential to understanding the events that come next, not only in the mortal arc, but also in the immortal one as well.

Plus, weren't you impressed by the acting in that arc? The sweet one sided love, the eventual warming up of the cold heart, the bitter breakup, the eventual reunion, and lastly yes, the misunderstandings and the conclusion of a 10,000 year love? I think that suitably makes up for any "boring" parts in that arc.

Nothing is boring if some feelings are there.

Yep. According to that convo b/w SY and MN. I'm not sure tho if the YBC incarnation is the last one or the only reincarnation into the mortal world that she had.
