I've heard a story (here in our place) that before, it was a tradition that if a woman dies of childbirth, even if the baby was born alive, it would be buried along with her as it is a jinx to the family. sad but true story. of course it's barbaric, but it is an unescapable thing. Good that we're civilized now, and that it's one tradition that died away. That's why this ep hits hard for me because myths and stories always have their roots in real life situations. This situation is possible, so hopefully seeing this, we the viewers can be better than the emperor.

(on TTJ's love thread) I think so too.. I always pegged this ep and the next one as the one where TTJ started to see YXW as someone who will really care for him and who he wants to care more about him... if not a whole thread, then the seed of it?

I think this was why YBC and XL wasn't as impactful as YQY and PR... there wasn't much friction between them, they were already in love with each other at the very start and there wasn't any significant conflict between them that dragged out like the main couple's... they already had the happy ending at the very start.
(then again, this is kinda the TTJ show soooo... and do I want to be absorbed in their love story? Errrmm not really🤣)

I'd always go back to this episode where Li Susu cares for the feverish Tantai Jin.. it may have been against her will, but she's really so kindhearted.. too much that she'd nurse even her greatest enemy to health. she couldn't even sleep properly thinking about her enemy kneeling in the frozen lake, with the cold wind blowing. And yeah, I was always thinking how she coped sleeping right after she came from the future. I myself can't sleep well when I sleep in somebody else's house.

Tantai Jin really looks so pitiable and miserable kneeling in the snow. I really have to wonder why no one,absolutely NO ONE, dared to do what was right by him. Okay, so they all fear YXW, but really, no one?

When YBC first appeared, I remembered being curious as to how the love square will turn out(i was kinda expecting one) but i was unconvinced she'd put up a hard fight with YXW for TTJ's heart. How can she if XL was that handsome and kind? I was also expecting XL to barge into Ye Mansion to scold YXW for how she treated TTJ, but the episode came and went without that.

TTJ's convo with the ADG makes me really curious as to what happened with the DG at ep1.. did he experience everything that TTJ will experience or was he simply bored enough or couldn't care less enough to let ADG take over?
