I now wonder why of all dramas, this should be one that's got to be so hard to air... it's been years and when we're so close to seeing the light at the end of the tunnel... bam... all gone -_-
This hits home, since I too have two older brothers. Not similar situation though but all the heartwarming feelings I have in this movie is just the same. My first older brother got married young so I actually didn't spend much time with him anymore. So this movie is more of like me and my second older brother too, we've been together almost our entire life since college because we live in the same rooftop, even after graduation and now me working. He never actually gotten a job formally till now, and I've always been hoping he does too but then when my dad's illness got worse last year, I understand why he never had, because now he went home to take care of our father. So when I think of marriage now, I feel like it'll be selfish of me thinking of my second older brother (well, it's not like I'm dating anyone right now tho ^^).
I feel like this movie is indeed a combination of Thai and Japanese movie, even the cinematography when they were in Japan and the pacing and ending has that Japanese touch to it ~ Glad that they also used real Japanese people for their Japanese characters.

Ahhh... I finally finished this one. This is what a drama should be, it has the right amount of everything, comedy, friendship, loyalty, trust, a little bit of drama, no annoying characters, no cliches, and the cherry on top, romance ~ I'm so sad that Lu Gu Nian and Brother Yuan died at the end, I was bawling my eyes at those scenes. I wish he would have seen YZX and ZJ's little Qi Chuan (if they really would name their son that ^^). Ofc, the drama has its flaws but as people have been saying, the drama did well despite the low budget. I totally love our gang, esp. the OTP. We need more YZXs and ZJs as characters in a drama. They really compliment and complete each other. What I love the most is ZJ's ideals esp. with regards to women's stance in the society. The OTP moments are less but am glad they shared a proper kiss in the final episode. Steven and Yu Tong's chemistry are just a bomb, whenever they stare at each other, sparks everywhere :) Hope to see more OTP moments soon ~.. Wang Kuan and Pei Jing are just too sweet of a couple too.... and there's Ya Nei and Xue Ying...lol... hope they can find their significant others too... or they can just accompany each other for life ... HAHA...
Hope in the second season, they get the recognition that they deserve, with proper promos and everything, and also internationally. This drama deserves more. I'm glad I came upon this, or else I would have missed a great drama.
Now, the problem is, after finishing this, I'm gonna be looking for sure for another drama that could be on par with this one. This is the disadvantage of finishing a great drama for me... I'd be like... "So where do I go from here?".... lol...
Hope the writer really would go for a second season. I know the gang (cast) have expressed it as well with the writer that they would want another season too. So praying for the drama gods for it to come to fruition ^=^.... ahhhhhhhhh..... gonna miss this one......

Yeah, if only it's a Netflix drama. Hope they know that there are international fans who are so looking forward to this, not only Chinese. Just wishing that the controversy be resolved and die down.
