Michi needs to come clean to her husband. He is trying to make it work a little too late but he also thinks she…
Michi will probably hold onto that secret for as long as she can tbh. She and her husband are in a weird spot right now where they kind of reconciled but it's still awkward for them. Coming clean will do nothing to help. Besides, episode 8 already proves that she's still not over Makoto.
I'm exhausted by Makoto and Michi at this point. Like either break it off completely or serve the divorce papers!
I'm looking forward to the next episode where we'll see Kaede and Michi. In the preview, it seems like Michi is just looking silently at Kaede with tears in her eyes. (Excellent acting from Nao in ep 7 where Michi and Yoichi are also having a silent conversation and her tears tell so much.)
Honestly, at this point, the two couples should just divorce. The four of them should just have some time to themselves, do some soul searching with lots of therapy and address their individual issues. Michi and Makoto...I still can't decide if I want them to end up together.
Here’s a question:Is it fair to expect love and commitment from someone whom you deserted both physically and…
YES to all this. I don't know why people think that just because Kaede hasn't physically cheated on Makoto that she's somehow the more innocent party because she's not. Emotionally neglecting your own spouse, whom you chose to marry btw, is also a shitty thing to do.
For those who blame kaede I bet if it was twitter you would side with her right away. Cheating is cheating whether…
Lol what does twitter have to do with the fact that she has been emotionally neglecting her husband? She isn't any better than the other three - they are all at fault imo. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. No excuses for cheating but also no excuses for getting married to someone and purposely neglecting their needs. None of them should be surprised that they now have to face consequences.
You're not alone. I remember reading about sexless marriages in Japan a few years back so it's an ongoing issue…
I noticed that about women's clothing. My friend loves to shop Western brands like Zara in Japan because their selection is usually more feminine than what we see in the States. It seems more prominent in bigger cities like Tokyo. I felt like women there had immaculate outfits and makeup/hair. The people in smaller cities and towns that I visited dressed very differently though.
is it me or are there a lot of Japanese dramas about sexless marriages and unfulfilled relationships. I wonder…
You're not alone. I remember reading about sexless marriages in Japan a few years back so it's an ongoing issue and concern for them. They're aging population but they also had fewer than 800,000 births last year. Seems like people in sexless marriages say that they have long working hours so that's one reason. We see this in Kaede in the drama.
If you don’t have a heart then neither do I. I am speculating this scenario (and am sure I’m wrong) but I…
Michi and Makoto might leave their spouses but they might not end up together. I hope they realize that the solution to their problems is not each other.
Maybe I don't have a heart but I don't feel sorry for the main characters. They made their choices and will now suffer the consequences. But this drama is so interesting and addicting.
he's got some sort of problem but it pissed me off that when he told her that he thought he had ED she immediately…
I can see why Michi thought he was lying though. Like if I were in her shoes in that scene, I would think the same especially when she's tried to initiate intimacy and keeps on getting rejected for no reason. It seemed like a lie and lame excuse after what she's tried to do and well it was a lie after all. But I do agree that she should've asked him about it a long time ago, not after TWO years. I feel like it's not that she didn't care but she cared more about her wounded pride, like she's not attractive enough to him. But TWO years without a sex life? That's a crazy amount of time. Her personality trait (flaw) of not wanting to press him can be frustrating to watch.
After ep 5, I'm very interested in how things will turn out for each character.
Kaede is now trying to make up for lost time and chances, but I think that might be too late for Makoto. I know some might see her as the only person who hasn't cheated with a person, but I feel like she's cheating on him with her job. No doubt that it's harder for a woman to climb the ladder in the corporate world so I understand why she wants to hold onto her job but I don't think that's an excuse for her to neglect her marriage. Nor is it an excuse for him to cheat either so don't think that I'm on his side. I think for her, she needs to learn that some time and chances cannot be made up if you don't put an effort the first time.
Makoto is holding onto Michi like a life vest. Does he genuinely like Michi? I think so. But at this point, I think he's also using her as an excuse to not to talk to Kaede. I believe him when Kaede asks if he still loves her and he says that he doesn't know. She's rarely around so whatever person he loves is probably the woman he first married, but whether he still loves her shell (because they only see each other when she comes home from work and exhausted) is a different story. Watching them makes me want to put the two of them in a room with a therapist and make them talk.
Yoichi is also trying to redeem himself but what I find interesting is that he listens to Mishima more than his wife. It goes to show that Mishima has a special place in his heart. Whether he slept with her to see if he does have ED or if he was looking for some fun, it still doesn't make his character any more likable or sympathetic to me. Also, in the flashback, we see it's Michi who went after him first so he always has had the upper hand in the relationship so he doesn't feel like he has to give in/sacrifice anything.
Michi is starting to pull back from Makoto now. It's the right decision but also so cruel to him. It seems like she used him as a life vest and now that Yoichi is trying to turn a new leaf, she feels guilty and shame.
Soooooo interested to see what will happen next. It's one hot mess.
