It's a 38 episode of a part 1 series and the male lead is already suffering in ep 7. It's gonna be so angsty, I don't know if I can take watching the "I love you but I'm gonna be cruel to you to save your life" arc. and since the english translation for this novel isnt finished yet, I think I'll stop watching and wait until all the eps are out. Also, we already have a hateful OW, but for the sister to suddenly hate the FL lead too...urgghhh how much suffering and tears are there gonna be.
I actually cried when CSS finally realised that her puppy love is so insignificant compared to whats happening with the world and they had to break it off. And also, I was sad for that He lady as well. I understand what the mother is trying to do but oh my god, how many times can a mother humiliate the daughter and in front of the entire royal family at that!?! I'm sure there are other ways she could have gone with that. I'm so happy LBY stands tall and is proud to have CSS as his wife. And I know at the moment, CSS is just agreeing with the proposal because she wants to stick it to her mom and also because she thinks this is her last chance to get married since her reputation is beyond repair. I can't wait to see her fall for him. With that proposal scene, we get a little insight into LBY's minds and thoughts of CSS. He knows how she is. And he likes that. He doesn't wanna change her, in fact likes her better for it. He knows she can hold a grudge but is honest and pure to a fault, stubborn but does not allow other people to walk all over her, cunning and smart, not afraid to stand up to him or kiss his ass. In fact, all these traits are like the mirror of LBY. Two peas in a pod.
Oh and I hate Yuan Shan. Typical kindergartener boy behaviour of picking on the girl they like. So not attractive.
I'm rewatching the eps and this time I cried at the punishment scene in ep 10 that the mother gave to CSS. like how could she. to her own daughter. Even the father, aunt and uncle were so surprised.

The emperor accepted him as his foster son because his father was his bff who helped the emperor a lot before he dies. So because he's the adopted son and his age. He is the eleventh prince.

Damn, those last 2 mins of LBY and CSS together in ep 18 is enough to lit up a fire. Like girl, how are you not feeling all of this tension and know the difference when you're with a puppy and wolf.
The contrast of LBY's brutal fight scenes with his 2 right hand men commentaries made me cackle. And love love love the emperor! Can't believe such an emperor exists. He really cares about LBY. Wonder if he knows about LBY's true identity. The comic relief characters in this drama are all so funny.
I'm loving the comedy in the episodes tonight. Can't wait to see the breaking of the engagement. Sorry LY. And I love how ruthless and brutal LBY is when he's not around CSS.
Okay I think I am gonna withold from watching this drama until at least ep 23-24 since we are going into the angst portion of it.
How unexpected of the emperor to be kind and caring towards his foster son. Such a refreshing angle instead of the "I want to kill this general who is more powerful than me even though he is my adopted son" XD
Im at ep 6 now....and damn...i hate that mother i dont care with that narrative 'mother knows best' 'you will…
I think in episode 11 (or was it 10?) when her mom punished her by using the military discipline and the mom blurted out that she won't care for this child anymore moving forward and SS said it's a deal, I feel like that's the closure of the mother-daughter relationship arc. They know where they stand in the relationship so I don't think SS will be looking towards her mother anymore for any affection.
Honestly, I'm not bothered by the latest news. Because I fell in love with Naksu's soul and personality. In the first episode, GYJ sold me as well. In fact, I went into this so unexpected and to be honest, did not even know who the main leads were. If GYJ can potray Naksu as Naksu with all the mannerisms and personality, then it should not matter who the vassal is.
Okay can someone explain to me who LBY is to the emperor again? He is the emepror's foster son? But the empress says she is his stepmother? I don't get it. And how come he has a lot of power even in front of the emperor and the royal family for being the foster son.
Episode 7 pulled everything back out of the uncreative drama quagmire that the Hong sisters have gotten into with…
It was so good and the pacing is fast. It's like go go go and that ending. At this point, all of my theories are wrong and I don't know what's gonna happen next.
also the fact that park jin didnt even know jang gang started alchemy of souls? then how did he buy that the king…
I think park jin just thought that the king had an affair with the wife in their original bodies. No shifting of souls involved. I was so surprised too when park jin asked about jang gang mastering AOS. Now that I think about it, so far in the show, no one has used it except for naksu, jin mu and jang gang. I don't think I've seen the other mages using it.
