I wished they released it earlier. Well, as long as NF release it in my country I will watch again and support the series.

Why don’t they make this kind of drama anymore? This drama is sooo good. It’s episodic but not boring at all. The cases are interesting and there’s always shocking truth behind them. All the casts delivered! The characters are all interesting. I love the dynamic in the episodes whether it’s the story, script, scenes, or interaction between characters. Moral of the story is there too. Why oh why they didn’t make Season 2! And I like how they didn’t make someone absolute evil or angel. Because the reality we all live in grey zone and that’s why it’s not so simple black and white when judging someone. Anyway… 1000000/10!

Oh I love everything about this drama. My only complaint is, I wished they made Season 4 and more. This drama was solid, as expected from veteran casts and WOWOW's high production. Everything about is PERFECT. 10/10!

This is only for serious watcher. It's been a while since I watched a really good J-Drama with solid cast, production, and more than anything story and script. 10/10

I think Shison Jun's visual here is PEAK! And also in the other drama 'Fermat no Ryori'. Blonde hair suits him very well.

For real. The fact they’re desperately trying to force their own interpretation about the drama means the drama itself failed to convey/convince the viewers

True. Also the fact that Makiko did consult with Keisuke about their son’s shoplifting case and he came from another town to be there and helped them. Can anyone blame him for rushing to his pregnant wife because her water broke? Yeah he promised Masaki to stay with him but it was emergency and she was alone 🙄

There’s also time when Keisuke told Masaki ‘I’ll protect you.” Then Masaki asked, “What about mom?” And he couldn’t answer, until Junichi quickly responded, “Don’t worry. Everything will be alright.”

Is that scene supposed to make Junichi look cool?” How can he be so sure everything is gonna be fine? How is he supposed to protect Makiko in that situation?

I am those who believe we shouldn’t tell lies to children even if it’s white lies. Maybe he just wanted to assure the kid, but in the end she wasn’t fine because she KILLED a person, and she had to go to jail. Or what? Was he going to cover up her crime so she doesn’t go to jail, just like Naoto did?

So yeah, it might sound cool and kind but tbh it’s pretty irresponsible answer.

After watching ep9, that blonde long haired lackey low key pissed me off. I thought he was in the same side as Fuyuhashi (the Orphanage ‘family’). But he sold Fuyuhashi twice already. Worst he’s acting like he had no choice but to obey Goroku and didn’t think the consequences will be fatal to Fuyuhashi. Is he really dumb or he’s just feigning ignorance ☹️

Left me wondering, what was the moral message of this story? 😑

Plot armor is so thick, not only Makiko’s crime didn’t affect her son going to his chosen school (as per her original motive), she also attained new boyfriend and father figure to her son. This is exactly what they say, “Killing two birds with one stone.”

I agree. Takeuchi Ryoma’s acting was good but I guess chemistry isn’t something you can fake.

I didn’t underestimate her. She knew and didn’t say anything doesn’t equal it’s okay for him to treat her the way he did. To be honest I wished Hiromi would just dump his ass right away, but the difference between him and her is that she actually loved him, so she stayed, hoping that someday he’ll choose her and love her back. But he didn’t.
When talking about the future instead of talking about their future together, he mentioned another woman’s name and how he wanna support her. What do you think she should have done, clinging to him? Crying to him, begging him not to go and leave her? You making it sound like it was her free choice to leave him, but does she even have a choice? Junichi practically telling her, “Read the room and leave”. He didn’t have the guts to properly ends things with her, nor say that he actually loves another woman. He lets the girl do all the work. Junichi is a coward through and through.

You are romanticizing and simplifying it too much.

It sounds nice when you frame it that way. But it’s an excuse highly convenient for Junichi and Makiko only, because they can get what they want and be together. Meanwhile, what about Hiromi? Her heart is broken and had to leave the house.

I don’t understand why age or age gap matter here. Junichi x Hiromi relationship didn’t work out not because of their age gap, nor Hiromi being too young. She’s not a minor, she’s already 25, a working adult, and from what I’ve seen, she behaves and acts way more mature than the other adults in this series.

I’m not questioning about how much Junichi loves Makiko, or how he doesn’t love Hiromi. Even if a break up is inevitable, there is a whole lot better way to end a relationship. My problem with Junichi lies in the way he treats his girlfriend, and the way and timing he broke up with her.

He used their planned date to play catch-ball with his crush’s son, he called her to babysit his crush’s son, he called her to make bento for his crush’s family. Only at times like this he acts like they are in a relationship and made her do what a girlfriend would do. He doesn’t want to reciprocate her feelings, but still uses her when it’s convenient. And when asked about the future, he broke up with her so nonchalantly. Funny how he broke up with her AFTER he used her well and freed from guilt and nightmares. She who has been by his side when he’s having nightmares and PTSD and made him feel at ease and accepted. But all that means nothing, because…. He just doesn’t love her? The audacity.

It’s not only lack of love, but also lack of respect, gratitude, and remorse that infuriates me.

The way he dumped the nurse too was horrible. If the fact that Masaki shoplifted and that he is a son of a murderer didn’t stop Masaki from getting accepted to his chosen school, then Makiko became a criminal for nothing 🤷🏻‍♀️

Many of Makiko’s interactions with the three childhood friends look like flirting or leading in my eyes. It would’ve been better twist if she actually did it on purpose to manipulate them.

Keisuke with his inferior complex is written to be as lame as possible to show how Junichi could be better husband and father material.

As for Naoto. He cares about Makiko so much he took the blame for the killing, but didn’t care about the consequences to his family. It must have been shocking to know that after all he has done for her, Makiko ended up turning herself not because she’s overwhelmed by guilt but for another man, yes, Junichi’s sake.

Hiromi, the poor girlfriend who is almost like AI robot, giving Junichi solution and validation and even when he dumps her, she’s so nonchalant and accept it right away with big smile.

Junichi, mixing his private and professional matters, was so cool when was a kid that all three of them admired him, but as an adult, he’s just a shitty cop and shitty boyfriend.

Something about all the characters giving me irks it’s hard to like them.

I feel bad about Makiko’s past but Junichi x Makiko’s love story feels too forced. It’s like they are only looking at the after-image of their feelings and memories from the past, how they fell in love when they were kids, but what about now? Are they falling for the present, adult version of each others? How do they fall in love again? How much do they know about each other currently? It’ like it’s still a continuation from their unfinished love story from 23 years ago, but thinking about how some adults still couldn’t move on from a crush from when they were kids makes me laugh

He let her takes care of Masaki when the rest of them talking to Makiko (when Makiko is about to turn herself in).
He let her prepares dishes for Masaki and Keisuke while Makiko being held in police station.
He told her he felt at ease and accepted being with her but when asked about the future, he mentioned another woman’s name and told her he wants to be there to support Makiko.
He only uses her when it’s convenient but didn’t want to commit and disposed her once he got what he wants. What a jerk
