I was feeling low and this movie made me feel even more depressed and tired. The director beautifully captured the quieter and more real side of Singapore which media doesn’t show much of. I don’t know if it’s because I lived in Singapore and attended school there or because I had to look after my grandparents and do the chores she did or because I’m just lonely, this really hit home. Sighhhhh. It’s a simple, and quiet film but it’s also slow-paced, mundane and sad. Don’t bother if you’re looking for a forbidden passionate romance or anything dramatic. Watch with caution if you’re depressed, lonely or sad. All in all, a very well-made and well-acted slice of life film.
A bad editor can make even a brilliantly made drama feel confusing at times, and Shine on Me unfortunately suffers…
I just watched the first episode and the editing was all over the place. Sad that the bad editing has persisted on. Anyway for now, I am intrigued to see where the characters go. Let’s see how long I can keep up with the bad editing.
The story and the leads’ love for each other hit the right spots emotionally but the story could have represented the ML’s emotions better and given more depth to the FL’s character and her process of healing. Nonetheless, this was a good watch; well-acted, scored and directed. 20 episodes flew by with this. (More in my review.) Recommended for those who love darker, and more tragic romances that keep you at the edge of your seat.
Episode 6. Mind blowing. They did such a fantastic job with the casting of the 3 main actresses.. they look so alike in some angles. Safe to say Part 2 is hitting out of the park and is so so much better, darker and thrilling than melodramatic Part 1.
Hi.. Sorry to bother you, but could you let me know where I can download or stream this drama? I don’t mind…
I watched that drama back in the day.. must be more than a decade ago I think.. so I don’t remember much about it. I don’t think I rated it highly though. Give it a try, maybe you may like it. Even the worst dramas have fans lol

I couldn’t agree more. J dramas hit different.
Unmet is one of my favourites <3 I promoted it so much everywhere to get people to watch it! I’ve seen 3, except Love is War. I’ll check that out, thank you.
Btw here are some recommendations I’d love for you to try -

Nahh just because I’ve been watching for years doesn’t mean I’ve seen them all. Im always happy to receive recommendations from people though most of the time Im the one to recommend lol.
Glad to see more people giving J dramas a chance.. they are so overlooked and too many people see few bad dramas and think that’s all they have to offer and it’s really sad because J dramas have such a diverse range of stories..
I think you’ll enjoy Love and Fortune since you’re not dissing it due to the age gap. Too many ppl wrote it off merely because of that.
Sighhhhh.

Bump off Lover
There are a few more but I can’t remember at the top of my head. Will get back to you.
I can barely finish a SK drama these days. Too many subpar dramas unfortunately.
Anyway for now, I am intrigued to see where the characters go. Let’s see how long I can keep up with the bad editing.
