Asking because I'm not sure - why do productions have actors film kiss scenes or certain romantic scenes in the first place if they know they're gonna be censored eventually?
Why do so many KDramas portray bosses at work as obnoxious, sociopathic dickheads?
Because that's really common in Asian countries. You're really lucky if you have a good boss (coming from someone who's worked in various Asian countries)
tbh there are good ones but very rare, for kdramas they have theyre own tropes as well as cdramas and thai lakorn…
I highly recommend these Thai dramas with good production, acting, and story. IMO they are some of the best in recent years. To the Moon and Back (2023) My Cherie Armour (2024) My Forever Sunshine (2020) Love Destiny (2018) Ready Set Love (2024) Bad Romeo (2022)
I have watched many of Esther’s dramas and she does look that beautiful 😊Sure all the actors wear make up…
This is my first time watching her and to be honest, I am not very impressed, but I do see the potential. Hopefully she'll grow on me as the episodes go by. I do find the drama interesting so far :)
It’s the makeup and the skin smoothering filter that they use.
Yeah I figured.. and unfortunately, her kiddish voice and baby face makes it worse. I feel like I'm watching a girl who ought to be in school rather than playing love interest to the ML who looks visibly older. The story seems interesting but I keep feeling an ick when they look at each other in a i-want-you way.
I was feeling low and this movie made me feel even more depressed and tired. The director beautifully captured the quieter and more real side of Singapore which media doesn’t show much of. I don’t know if it’s because I lived in Singapore and attended school there or because I had to look after my grandparents and do the chores she did or because I’m just lonely, this really hit home. Sighhhhh. It’s a simple, and quiet film but it’s also slow-paced, mundane and sad. Don’t bother if you’re looking for a forbidden passionate romance or anything dramatic. Watch with caution if you’re depressed, lonely or sad. All in all, a very well-made and well-acted slice of life film.
A bad editor can make even a brilliantly made drama feel confusing at times, and Shine on Me unfortunately suffers…
I just watched the first episode and the editing was all over the place. Sad that the bad editing has persisted on. Anyway for now, I am intrigued to see where the characters go. Let’s see how long I can keep up with the bad editing.

There are a few more but I can’t remember at the top of my head. Will get back to you.
I can barely finish a SK drama these days. Too many subpar dramas unfortunately.
