Re-watched this drama after almost 3 decades, and I never thought I could love it more than I did back then. The characters, the music, the vibe, the beach town... the breeziness, the simplicity, the friendships, the bromance, and the emotions it evoked; it can never be replicated. What a time it was to be alive. This drama will always be special. Thank you Netflix for uploading this timeless feel-good gem :)
What was the casting director thinking when he/she casted Park Byung Eum opposite Seo Yea Ji?! Their scenes fall flat because they have zero chemistry. Also, I wish South Koreans go easy on the skin whitening and filters.. Yea Ji looked way too pale in many scenes and that was uncomfortable to watch.
On E1 and a detail that irks me - when dramas generically mention they were in Africa.. like Africa is a freaking…
On E5 and I feel like dropping it already - did the writer even do any research on the ins and outs of a talent company / entertainment industry? For a drama set in that space, the writing is so surface-level and lacks depth. Also, these characters must be superhuman to be able to eat out everyday after a 9-5 job only to talk about their job.
I hate to use this term, but the ML is such a man-child.. sigh.
On E1 and a detail that irks me - when dramas generically mention they were in Africa.. like Africa is a freaking continent with so many countries and diverse languages / cultures. The least they could do is specify which country he was in. Also, the entire continent isn't in ruins.. there are people who are privileged and rich in every African country.
It's hard to find a romcom these days that is actually charming and doesn't try too hard. This had both. Thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. Time well spent :)
It is still there.. I am currently re-watching it.No idea if they removed it from your region though...
I was in US last week and it was still there.. that's when I saved it to my list (mine is a netflix US account) Currently watching it from Singapore though.
Re-watched this after 2 decades (thanks to Netflix) and it's is still an A1 drama. Wacky in every way and as with most J dramas from this genre, full of so much heart. I laughed along with them and felt emotional when they thanked Chiaki in the finale. Dramas like these fill me with nostalgia for a time lost that will never return again.. the world was so much simpler, vibrant and beautiful back then. These characters will always live in my heart. Thank you for the memories.
