I don't think I've watched Ito Satsushi in anything other than Densha Otoko, which I really enjoyed. Nice to see him here! I really like Fujino Ryoko as well, she's a great actress. And boy, does Renn rest? I just realised he's been doing back to back dramas this year. Looking forward to watch this promising cast!
Great for viewing on a rainy, cosy day with some hot chocolate. Soft, romantic & bittersweet. I loved every minute of this beautiful movie :) Highly recommended for those who love romances!
RE: The first sentence - that is not true at all. In fact, majority of the J dramas do not have manga-ish acting…
There are hundreds of them but the few that came to my mind are -
Alice in Borderland Bungaku Shojo Death Note Erased (drama version) Gokusen Hana Kimi Hana Yori Dango Hapimari! Horimiya Ikeburo West Gate Park Juhan Shuttai! Kakegurui Kimi No Todoke Kishibe Rohan Wa Ugokanai Kodai Family Kuzu No Honkai Mirai Nikki Nagi's Long Vacation Nodame Cantebile Ojisama to Neko Ore Monogatari Piece
I was really disappointed with the way the storyline developed. All characters apart from Miho went back to where…
My two cents
Regarding Kyoko - I do think we need to look at the time this was happening. It's a drama from the 90s & you won't see many dramas from back then actively talk about therapy & seeking mental help. Out of the many I've seen, I can only name 1 that had the FL see a psychiatrist.
Even Kyoko's sexual orientation was never clarified or confirmed, though there were hints that she was likely bisexual or lesbian (and not just obsessed with Miho).
Regarding Miho - I don't think she merely learnt to repress her feelings better. She admitted that she loved him & wasn't repressing her feelings. Rather, she understood that she wasn't ready to be in a relationship with someone like Shintani even if she loved him. Afterall, love doesn't just die overnight. Also she decided to put herself first & focus on her independence (rather than relying on someone else) which was clear growth.
Thank you! Your article has convinced me to check it out even though I'm not a fan of Chinese dramas. The fact that this is directed by a TW director (that too from Someday or One Day) is a huge plus.

Have you seen the Turkish version? The SML broke my heart in that one. The FL & SML were totally soulmates in that. Probably the only version where I rooted for the SML so bad.
Looking forward to watch this promising cast!
