well it sucks to watch this after go ahead bc the dad there was the best (the most perfect, supportive, caring, loving dad I've ever seen EVER!) and I just hate seeing him play a bad one now, so unsupportive of her daughter's decisions in life ughhh :(( makes me wanna rewatch go ahead again to get rid of this bad dad in my mind. I can't believe he actually pushed her to the ground like that. they're both really bad parents

edit: tbh I don't find the dad to be that bad. it was just that one scene where he pushed her that made me so disappointed. but I feel like if the mother wasn't there, he would be really supportive. I watched the scene when he talks with the boss (Li Dad X Ling Dad 'Go Ahead' reunion 🥹🥹🥹) and I feel like he felt supportive there... and the way even Zhu Yun always relies on her dad to deal with her mom lol

to me, the worst episodes were ep.20-23. I just finished ep.23 and finally starting to feel better after they go back to the present. gosh, those 4 episodes were too much for me but I'm glad I endured through them!

lol same. I cried too much in go ahead but rarely ever cried while watching this. I think the emotions were just so much stronger in go ahead bc even if I knew what was going to happen, I didn't cry watching in 'Family By Choice' but rewatching clips of 'Go Ahead' on YouTube still make me cry buckets even tho I watched it already so it's def the acting and how the directors captured it I guess with the music/OSTs and such in the original version 😭🥺

I just searched it up and that donghua version looks so much like Ding Yuxi omg he would slay that role! Now it makes me wanna read the novel since I'm just starting to read novels just recently haha. I'll prob try soon! Hope they make a live action with him as the lead one day!

THE DING YUXI DOPPELGANGERS STORY IS MY FAVORITE PART OF THIS DRAMA SO FAR! Omg, he really outdid himself here. As an identical twin myself, this episode was just too sad for me. Zheng just wanted Anaran to live! I was bawling my eyes out 😭 I just want a whole drama just focusing on these two! I would be so up for it! The emotions Ding Yuxi brings to both characters is insane and he has to act for both sides to EACH OTHER which is not an easy thing to do. I would hope for a side story but ofc it's not gonna happen 😭 But I'm so proud of Ding Yuxi! I really want more of it!!!!! 😩😩

Anyways, I'm so happy we are getting Ding Yuxi X Meng Ziyi a lot these days! I am looking forward to seeing more of them bc I enjoy watching them on screen together 🥹

I'm so sad too... this was not written right bc Mu Mie is actually such a nice person so for him to say that he only loved Red Eye sounds wrong like for real, he would never say that. It's the writers' fault seriously. Also yeah I'm disappointed in Red Eyes bc she thought that Mu Mie liked Blue Eyes so she decided to keep that body to herself so that she can get his love only for herself? The fact that she decided to give her body back to Blue Eyes after Mu Mie was not feeling well bc Blue Eyes can only save. If it wasn't for that, bet you she wouldn't be giving her body back to her. Also, yeah sacrificing herself did help Jiuhuo so this part of the drama really disappointed me.

I honestly prefer blue eyes more and I was very disappointed in red eyes. It shows that if Mu Mie was not well, she would never bring Blue eyes back (bc Blue Eyes can heal him so if she didn't bring her back, Mu Mie would not be saved)... idk the fact that she was so selfish that she wanted to keep Mu Mie to herself is not it esp since she thought he liked Blue Eyes! I was surprised that he liked Red Eyes tho... I really thought he liked Blue Eyes :(

Yes, you can skip doors. In the novel, it actually explains it well unlike in the drama, I feel like it's not explained much. So if I'm not wrong, a door level is the door level of the person that got the note/clue from their previous door. So this could be a higher level to some others in the door but if they do make it out, then that means they have skipped doors and already will go to the 6th one next (with this door that they passed being the 5th door). And I think for the 10th door, I know Yixie wanted to try entering that door to skip levels but I remember Lanzhu didn't want him to because it was dangerous and didn't have enough experience in it as yk, Lanzhu did experience that door and he and one other person were the only ones that survived it. Idk if I gave you the answers you're looking for but that's what I got from reading the novel (I'm still reading it currently so I need to digest the information more)

same! I rarely cried in the beginning episodes... I really didn't expect to cry THIS much! I started crying a ton starting ep.27 and onwards. I think as each death came, I cried harder and harder. The twins was the worst. Oh gosh, as an identical twin myself it was too much for me. I can't imagine losing a twin so that was too painful! Not to mention, my sister and I watched this drama together (on different devices) and we both bawled our eyes out 😭😭😭 And yeah, Dongyuan and Zaozao's was just too painful for me to watch! I can't! And then the parting in the last episode made me bawl my eyes out a ton too, that was too painful 😭😭😭😭 Oh... and the way I cried so hard in Lanzhu fake death scene even tho I knew he would come back (bc of Lingling) 😭😭😭
