I keep coming back to this comment section cos it's so entertaining but I also realised why I disliked this show so much, personally. It's the same reason I ended up disliking TKEM. It's the wasted potential. This show had so much promise and a strong cast but in the end, all that was thrown out the window for a cheap, overplayed and poorly executed love triangle trope.
The promise of the first couple of episodes was that we'd get a story of a broken family possibly healing and their journey to reunite; a story of found family and how we don't always have to find love with the family we're born into because there are people out there who will offer the care and support we don't even realise we need until we get it; a story of hard work and brilliant minds overcoming adversity; a story of women making it as a start up in a heavily male-dominated industry; a rich and ultimately heartwarming story of many odd characters coming together through the oddity of the letters and realising that they have more in common than thought and them becoming stronger for it.
When I read the synopsis and watched the trailer for the show I was unimpressed and uninterested but I watched it anyway because I love NJH & Suzy, so I was very happy to see the promise of the earlier episodes. Imagine my disappointment when the show took all that potential and shoved it down a cosmic garbage disposal, each episode slowly stripping away the hope I'd held and morphing into the mess that was this finished product.
I rated it a 5 not because of a ship that didn't sail (and in fact shouldn't have because HJP deserves a lot better), but because of the glimpse of what could have been that was given and then snatched away through the messy storytelling, inconsistent characters, lack of development, abandoned plot lines, etc.
He also was willing to marry her without asking questions. It was an agreement that they had and she was the one…
Lol. She has a lot of demands and complaints. One of them was about s*x which she initiated. Bottom line is, they both decided to marry a stranger without asking questions or making demands and now they're getting to know each other.
Are you watching the same show? Also, you do know you can just... not watch it, right? LOL
It surprise me that this kind of drama is 7.8 score, it's unbelivable, how female that respect herself can watch…
He also was willing to marry her without asking questions. It was an agreement that they had and she was the one who changed it when she developed feelings for him. They had their reasons for wanting to marry a stranger and now they care about each other so the relationship can develop.
I didn't even know this was a remake and I'm actually glad. It's cute so far. I'm gonna see a few more episodes before I make up my mind though. I think the episode length is one of the things that attracted me and I like that it airs 3 times a week.
I really don't know how to be comfortable with the way Tonhon's first response to anything is violence/anger. It's not so funny when the character doesn't appear to have any real self-awareness in the end. I ry wish Chon would tell him that his behaviour is not okay under any circumstance so he can at the very least hear it from someone.
I'm on ep 5 and it honestly feels like FL is not nearly as smart as she thinks she is and that's kind of funny to me. I would love it if she actually had something to do with the case though.
Yep. i understand Jukyung. its hard to gain confidence with living with someone who reminds you every day of how…
It's really demoralising. No one deserves that especially from family who should support & love you even when they don't like you very much. The report card thing was the final straw for me. I cannot stand her anymore.
I hope you don't have to live in that kind of environment anymore. You deserve better.
I just find LJG's mom so frustrating and honestly annoying. I can't imagine living with someone like that cos half the time it feels like they hate your very existence and the other half they just don't care. When she went on about JG humiliating her I wanted to scream. Humiliation? Ma'am, do you see yourself and how you act?
I really want JG to just find more confidence in herself with/without makeup and learn to fight for herself too. The fact that she was able to stand up to the bullies targeting Seo Jun's sister but she just froze and regressed when she saw her own bullies broke my heart. I hope we get to see her stand tall and proud as the awesome person she is in front of everyone.
I can't believe how much I've lol'd watching this show. I am absolutely floored by SHS's performance. Loving it all so far and I hope that doesn't change.
Still on ep 1 but I get so distracted everytime the FL is onscreen cos WTF are those glasses??? Who wears glasses that massive? Lol. I know, I know... it's a drama. I just couldn't help laughing out loud everytime they showed her. Gonna stick it out though cos there's a lot of potential here.
SAME! I was so disappointed when Dan Juan found out but advised ML not to tell her.
Exactly! And Su Mo is definitely the type to throw it in her face just to hurt her so I don't understand how they can think it's a good idea to keep her in the dark.
Sick and tired of everyone except FL knowing the history between ML and SFL. There's no reason for this except to create unnecessary drama in a show with more than enough drama.
Stupid fanwars and stupid fangirls ruined this place for me. HJP fans are down right sick. Do yourself a favor…
You know you can just... not read things, right? You can also NOT write things and not base your life choices on what random strangers on the internet say. Wild. I know. But you have the choice! *mind blown*
Beginning and epilogue of ep 11 when Saha asks "who has your heart?" DM says "I'm not sure. How do I figure out?"…
The moment it became clear that only HJP cared about the letters and only he carried the burden of the lie (when SDM forgot & forgave NDS immediately and never even talked to grandma about them), I knew there was no point continuing the illusion of a love triangle. I don't know why the writer assumes all the viewers are idiots. Dalmi saying she didn't know who to pick was extremely annoying to me cos she never actually considered not being with NDS, not really. She made up her mind when she was a child that she would end up with "Nam Do San" and that was all that mattered.
Do San and Dal Mi hang up new wishes. Dal Mi: To Change the world. Do San: Follow your dream. They walk away hand…
Thank you so much for saving me from having to watch this cringe-fest. So in the end NDS exists to follow Dalmi's dreams? Lol. I'm happy they have each other.
