Someone already said it, but crossdressing and being transgender are not the same thing. Also, trans people aren't new lol. They have always been there, but like other queer identities, they've been misrepresented or left out of a lot of depictions of historical times. This is like the argument that "accurate" depictions of ancient Europe should not have POC, as if they didn't exist. Hilarious.
I enjoyed the first episode a lot and I hope this stays as captivating until the end. I do wonder if some of the criticism FL is receiving for being "arrogant" and "mean" would stay the same if she was a man. She has every right to be arrogant when she basically clawed her way to the top while facing constant ridicule and opposition from all the men in her law firm (except the boss who just wants to use her as an attack dog). As for defending the man accused of rape, she did her job and while it may seem extreme, she was never presented as someone who is nice, especially not to the opposition. If she suddenly became a champion of the alleged victim's rights in the middle of the episode, that would be beyond belief. She was presented as a loyal and efficient employee, so when her boss says jump, her response is to ask how high. Until she meets a circumstance that causes her to seriously reevaluate her life or change her attitude, this is who she'll be and I have no issues with it.
