She was in Korea and he was in Korea. Plus it was accident, the news must've shown on TV lol? Even if not it's…
She did try to reach him and she couldn't, and now she knows why. Death news doesn't spread as quickly as you think when it's not a famous person or a close family member who died. Unless he told his siblings her name and contact info, then no one would be able to find her. Still, it's just 4 episodes in and I'm assuming the rest of the story will be told. All I'm saying is that it's not unimaginable for someone to die and a person they knew to never hear of it, especially when they haven't met any of each other's friends or family. He didn't even tell her he had a brother, so I can imagine there was a lot they hadn't gotten around to doing yet.
Y'all saying how did she not know he was dead... I'm glad you've never been ghosted? It happens and it sucks. I can see how she didn't know cos she just moved back to Korea and they only knew each other for 2 months in a foreign country. He was obviously hesitant to introduce her to his family because of his mother and then he died. When all you have to look for someone in a very big world is a number that's disconnected and a name that doesn't belong to only one person in the world, yeah, you may never be able to find that person let alone know if they're dead or alive.
I really liked episode 4 and my heart broke for HYE when she finally broke down. Carrying all that and having to deal with the work crisis must've been unbearable for her. I'm curious about how the leads will have a relationship with the shadow of her ex always lurking.
I would like it if by the end, Do Gun and Jung Woo open their own place together and Laura's place fails miserably. It seems like she only asked Jung Woo to come to the restaurant so she could push out Do Gun. I doubt that she even has any respect for Jung Woo as a chef.
i was one of the first to see that instagram comment, held myself back and try not to reply to that comment (because…
This is curious to me, because no one calls their actual friends out online. Why do we expect celebs to destroy personal relationships to meet our needs? It's possible that he called the person out in private, we will never know. Also, he's been in web dramas for so long now, I'm sure he also wants to do a full length drama as a lead too so I'm not disappointed in him for his response, solely because he's getting older now and he's still just in one box. Would you be more open to his response if he meant that he was actually giving up acting altogether?
I understand the disappointment, but I'm just wondering what he could've said that wouldn't end up with him either being 'cancelled' like so, or damaging a personal relationship we don't know anything about.
I know this is a fantasy, but the whole premise is ridiculous. No one would think that two competing chefs in…
I get your point about not standing for it, but the owner clearly knows that since he built this place from the ground up he won't leave like that. It's why she's been able to manipulate him into this awful situation. Starting over isn't easy especially if you have to go work in an unfamiliar kitchen for an unfamiliar person. She knew exactly what she was doing to ambush him like that.
I also felt she was a little jealous when she was reading those comments cos everyone was talking about the chef and not the owner of the restaurant. She may also just be doing this to force him out too.
I came for comments about the drama but all I got was drama 😂 can't we just appreciate actors for their work and not try to control them?
Anyway, this show is giving me Tasty Florida vibes and I'm really enjoying the potential chaos of having Jung Woo in that kitchen. They'll need to work together but their boss is such a snake and I don't like her at all.
I'm so pissed about one thing in this drama and it's that everyone blamed Du-shik for other people deaths. Like…
All of this! When she said she wouldn't apologise I wanted to slap her. Cos she literally told him she wished he was dead and he didn't even do anything wrong. I can't imagine what hearing that from someone he loved and trusted would've done to him. No wonder he still had nightmares. I kept waiting for the reveal that maybe he was driving drunk or something but no, it was just an accident and he was in the passenger seat. As for that guy and his father, don't even get me started. Du-shik tried to dissuade the man but he kept insisting, and then went and took risks that Du-shik told him not to take. What exactly did they expect from Du-shik at that point? The market was crashing and he had a job to do. People just put blame on him for things that he didn't do and it was never really addressed. That really annoyed me too.
This whole thing is messy as hell and also none of my business. I don't expect anything of performers I don't know so I'm not going to come here and defend or castigate someone for having a personal life when they're a grown adult. Sure, it's a sh*tty thing he did to her (real f*ckboi energy) so let them sort it out among themselves. I will say though that the part about him badmouthing his co-workers was just hilarious to me cos why on earth did that need to be in the story at all? I hope she gets what she needs from all this and I hope we see less stories about actors or actresses and their exes in the future.
I actually enjoyed the end. I always enjoy Lu Si's performances and I liked her here too. This was a fun diversion every week and I don't why so many people say the FL is stupid. She was fun, smart, hardworking and compassionate even to people who treated her with contempt. I also really liked the relationship between Sang Qi and Yun Zhi a lot. I even grew to appreciate Yan Yan even though I didn't care for him at all in the beginning.
Honestly, Chung Gi hearing that being close to her is what brings out the demon and then sneaking about to get as close to Ha Ram as possible is so annoying. Will they really say the prince didn't catch her on the litter? He's not a complete idiot.
I also wonder who that old man is but I'm not gonna go back to ep 1 to try and figure it out. Plus, the magic ring? I'm starting to think maybe Ha Ram's father got that from the goblin as protection and that's why it's effective now? There's still so much that's unknown and they're not making any effort to explain it so I'm just going off of vibes here.
Also why didn't the Tiger Spirit tell Chung Gi about the eyes? This whole dropping as little info as possible every 2 episodes is truly irritating and I'm tired of it.
Really glad I didn't take any of the comments about the ep 24 preview to heart, and I'm so happy Sang Qi has continued to live up to my expectations. I wish ZWY everything he deserves. ( ꈍᴗꈍ)
Just when you think Fl could not get any more dumber and crappier, ep 21 happens. For a drama that wants to project…
Her father made them fight and they did talk about her being alone with him. Also, was she supposed to abandon her job on day 1 because of some useless and inappropriate man? He obviously went there under the guise of work because he knew she wouldn't have a choice (like most men who can't take no for an answer).
She may not be a genius but she's not crappy or dumb. She set boundaries with him and I don't get blaming her for his behaviour. She clearly told him she's not interested and even said she would not marry anyone else no matter the outcome of the fight so idk what else she could have done when again, her father, insisted that they fight. She loves and respects her father and she also clearly gives everyone multiple chances even the women chasing after her fiance.
I'm really enjoying the relationship between Sang Qi and YYZ so far. It's obvious that they respect each other and have similar ideals, are pretty smart and work well together. I'm just waiting for someone to figure out that SML and his aunt are the ones behind everything bad. I'm also glad to see that Sang Qi's dad wasn't just being an obstacle for no reason lol.
First of all, the plot summary on MDL is so off base. Secondly, did anyone really read that summary and expect some epic tale? I knew what I was getting into when I started it and it hasn't disappointed. It's a light, easy, fun story and Zhao Lusi is great in her role as usual. She always delivers when it comes to these light rom-coms, even when she has dust to work with. I'm enjoying this and I've laughed a lot more than I expected. I recommend this if you just want something to make you smile without putting too much thought into it.
I agree with this completely and 8 wish I'd found this review before I started the show. At the beginning of her developing feelings for him, I could already see her manipulative side because each time she went a little too far (like renaming HIS cat) and he mentioned their reality, i.e. the contract marriage, she would sulk and act up and have him questioning himself. I also found her very slow way of speaking incredibly annoying and by the time I got to episode 15 and the breakup, I could no longer go on. Reading your review and getting a glimpse of how they get reunited tells me I was right to stop when I did.
