Wow, I've always loved Miles Wei as his typical domineering CEO type persona, but damn, he has really upped his…
Thoroughly agree! Versatile actor. He was smart to take this role even though itās a second ML role. Knocking it out of the park and I havenāt even made it to ep 29 yet. Canāt wait!
A nice light watch. Beautiful people. Nothing too dark and sinister or heavy. One of the tamest action dramas Iāve ever seen. But, I like it.
The FL character is smart, extremely smartāa business and weaponry genius. Quite a fascinating twist! The FL character is a thoroughly admirable woman. That part of the character, Angelababy is nailing and portraying beautifully. While Angelababyās trademark gentleness and reserved acting style are lovely and pleasant, they are mildly underwhelming for this role. This role instead requires someone dynamic and highly charismatic. Her character started off with some oomph in the action scene of episode 1, but progressively became the subdued and calm Angelababy that weāve seen time and time again. Nevertheless, I am enjoying her story very much.
Song Wei Long is dashing and charming and handsome (as per usual) and doing far better in the role than I expected. Is he the rough, gruff, hardass that the character is supposed to be? Kinda sorta, but not entirely. Heās definitely more the gentleman than the kickass, cunning general. But, still, heās doing well enough in the role to make it believable that heās capable of being the Wolf Leader.
Overall, a solidly entertaining watch. Iām hooked every episode. The slowburn romance is building nicely with multiple other interesting subplots and side characters turning this into in my new favorite drama after āFlourished Peony.ā
Weak chemistry. No sizzle. Interesting story thoughāunexpected reveals. Second leads more compelling. Too many unnecessary filler scenes. Unattractive makeup and styling. Garish sets. Gave this a chance because of Bai Lu and the director, but just not my cup of tea.
ML character is a total simp. šNot smart at all. The actor himself isnāt doing much for me either. Maybe itās this hokey plot. This drama is so cringy. Nice seeing this actress in a FL role though. I have seen her in supporting roles many times. Sheās a total baddie in this drama with that innocent, scheming, provocative vibe. Sheās so beautiful and her acting is good.
JCY is incompetent. He doesnāt have insight enough to look after the people close to Lu Yan, like her mother??! He just continues to underestimate WP and fails to grasp the situation thoroughly.
I loved the acting of weng peng i pitted him i cursed him he was so good...āš»
I was thoroughly moved too. The actor nailed it! I will be following all his dramas from now on because heās good. That scene where he was pounding the pavement with his fists in griefāOOMMGGG. Excellent acting. I felt so bad for him, not excusing his murderous path of course, but I do sympathize with him. Oddly, I have more sympathy for him, a murderer, than his mother who abandoned him in the first place. I wish he couldāve overcome his pain and resentment in the proper way. His story is the most compelling out of this whole drama.
The plot is nonsensical. I was amused at first by cops not being able to take down a petite woman. But, the preposterousness of a mom leaving her child with an abuser is just too much. What mother is going to do that? Also, sheās married to a cop. How could she not ask him for help to get her son back? How in the world could he not do a bit of investigating and discover her sonās whereabouts? This is ridiculous. Everyone keeps telling the mother itās not her fault and her husband was even cracking jokes to lighten the mood. It is her fault! She didnāt do enough for her son. She got herself out of a bad situation, but left her son in it and happily deluded herself that he was doing fine without digging any further to verify. Iām annoyed with this development. I was hoping to understand the mother, but I have no sympathy for her.
He didnāt seem as into her after they got together. Thatās how it kinda feels to me. Sheās pursuing him more. Theyāre a confusing couple to me.
Iām baffled by this Bofeng story line. This chance connection between Bofeng and JCY is wild. Or, was their crossing paths somehow forced by WP? Surely he couldnāt manipulate things to that extent, right?
When Lu Yan was going off at the coach and JCY told her to āCalm down,ā that got on my nerves. She was doing just fine. She didnāt need to calm down.
