The kiss felt off to me too. It felt desperate. He seemed desperate. It felt like, “Fine then. You so mad about my not kissing you before. Fine, I’ll kiss you now. I can’t take your ice-cold treatment anymore. We good now?” That’s how it felt to me. He declared that he loved her. Really? Already? I knew he liked her, admired her, but love? I feel like we missed a step. I thought they were still in the getting-to-know-you phase.

She’s pretending that it’s no big deal. Obviously, she was deeply hurt by XZY’s rejection.

I would have liked to hear Zhao’s reason for his cheating. He claimed he still loved Zhao. So, why wasn’t she enough? Why did he stop sharing his life’s goings-on with her? Why confide in another woman if he loved Zhao? I really don’t understand the psychology of a cheating husband like this.

That’s was pretty nuts. 😳

True. I’d site “One and Only” as a great example of this. There were zero kisses in that, yet the bond and attraction between them was so 🔥 fire—gripping drama.

Also, “Under the Power” and “Miss Crow with Nr. Lizard” 🦎—two more great examples. The chemistry in “Under the Power” is one of my favorite of all time—the story, the humor, the drama. Outstanding without salacious kisses. Kisses don’t equal chemistry.

Too be honest, I don’t have a high expectation for the quality of the kisses we will get here in “Love Between Lines.” CXX doesn’t strike me as a good kisser 🤭 from what I’ve seen in various clips. (I hope he proves me wrong). But, I am loving this story so much—great acting, great chemistry, humor, lots of heart and warmth. Delightful drama so far.

I used to look at SML with contempt. But, hate to admit it, he’s got that X-factor, that swagger, that charisma. That lil move in the elevator sent me 😏😏😄😄 Previously, I was rolling my eyes and SMH 🤦🏾‍♀️ at the girlies gushing over him, but honestly I kinda get it now. Do I trust him? No. Absolutely not. He’s still shady as hell. But, just how shady and dirty is he? Certainly, his stunt with the competition was pretty unethical. Does he have any redeeming qualities though? Or is he bad to the bone? We shall see.

Correct, the men have no standing, don’t make decisions, nor run the tea business. They labor in the tea plantation, guard and serve the women and family, or can serve as government officials/military.

He turned abusive to his wife after the riding accident—verbally and physically abusive. I guess she had had enough and schemed to kill him. That’s all that I could piece together as this arc of the story was so poorly written.

It appears that she told the concubine to put the Valley Lily in the braziers which seemed to be driving LJL’s brother to madness. Her family were pharmacists, but the concubine was uneducated. So, it’s assumed that the wife coached the concubine.

Around ep 11. It’s good. Hang in there.

This drama’s first half was so strong and outstanding —entertaining, well-written, with surprises and stunning twists left and right—the wow factor was HUGE!

Then, the second half happened and I was left feeling “What was that?”—in other words empty, unsatisfied, and confused. It felt like a completely different drama that we were not prepped for at all, no foreshadowing, no nothing.

The second half (actually, the last third, ~the last 10 episodes) felt like an abrupt left turn and a completely different drama—a very ordinary and different drama. The wow factor was gone. I felt very tired by the end.

You said it—he definitely sees her in a new light and will genuinely start to crush on her now. She had already caught his eye in the elevator during their first meeting. So, the seed was there from the getgo. Now, the interest will start to grow big time. But, I still think he might try to use her against XZY in some way.

She should have snapped pictures and took a video for evidence instead of standing there crying. Then walk it down to a lawyers office immediately. Sure, give hubby a chance to explain himself, but then kick him out and change the locks.
