I do feel disappointed in DQ, but I also understand her reasoning.

I also feel like XQ deserves it (the rejection from DQ). She used Bi Zhi as a pawn, she didn’t care for him as her brother-in-law. When she saw his strength, she realised she could use him to defend BY from the other clans. DQ just wanted to live peacefully with Bi Zhi, she doesn’t seem that scheming, she just wanted a simple life. she genuinely loves Bi Zhi, she doesn’t want anything from him.

Just my two cents.

I feel like the confessions never quite give me the feels, because there are a few of them, and they’re always qualified. Like, when XQ says ‘I admire you.’ It’s different from I love you.

But it’s ok. Their interactions give me the feels!

I’m depressed that I only get one episode tomorrow - and it’s not a romance one. I’m dying here! Dyiiing!!! I’ve rewatched the kissing scene about 50 times already!

Also, I watched the interesting theory about the end and got sad about that too. Since they win by episode 32, it seems Liu yan kidnaps da qiao, with qiao stupid uncle’s help, and they force bi zhi to kill Wei Shao. When da qiao sees them battling she jumps to her death to save bi zhi from having to choose between her and killing wei shao. I really like bi zhi!!! 😢

I’ve seen some Chinese fan theories, and in it, the qiao stronghold is attacked by Liu yan (can’t remember what the qiao homeland is called), WS and XQ argue because of the secret tunnel, WS is angry, but still goes off to war to protect the qiao land (there’s a scene of her seeing WS off and beating a war drum).

However, there aren’t an enough troops, so XQ goes to Boya with a few troops to ask her sister for reinforcement, but her sister refuses because she’s afraid of losing her husband. XQ is distraught, but plans to devastate Liu Yan’d reinforcements by trapping them downstream (there’s a scene of her building a dam or something). She manages to cut off the reinforcements and WS wins.

In the episode, the ML anger with FL over the painting is not a big angst plot. He gets angry, but then he realises it’s not her fault and apologises soon after. Thank god. In the book the ML is revolting in general, and in this scene.

Haha! I went straight to the painting scene! Did not disappoint.

Not a lot of romance in today’s episodes ☹️. And I don’t completely trust the FL not to betray WS. There’s something very evasive about her responses, and she still doesn’t share all her thoughts with him.

Thanks! I like how I have watched some scenes 500 times, like the one where WS first sees XQ, but clearly not paid attention to the plot, haha. I mean, logically, I know I can’t just have my lovely romance without a plot, but at the same time… it’s just filler to make my favourite couple grow closer! 🤣

I don’t know what I’m seeing either! But I think we are the only ones that can’t tell what it is, because there are about 200 comments under it getting excited and saying they will have a wedding night 🤣

Have I missed the significance of Wei Yan? He’s not a possible heir, he has no merits, no army, and he is just a playboy. If he turns against WS, it would upset WS, but couldn’t harm him. Is his plot just a side plot about jealousy?

I don’t like how he seems a bit blind to her evilness. It’s like when he wasn’t able to see through Zheng shu at the beginning. It was disappointing. He’s meant be smart, but he keeps on trusting the wrong people.

Doing my detailed rewatch (guilty of skipping to romance). Have to ask, was WS actually going to marry Zhengshu?? When he asked XQ to arrange it I got so mad! Gross 🥺

Can’t get over Peter Ho’s cameo. Can’t work out if he’s trying to be comedic or good looking when he’s pulling faces while talking! Haha. And he looks like an uncle!

It might be a generation thing because I don’t even find him hot from old photos? Every generation has different beauty standards.

At the beginning of the clip, FL is thanking ML in public for gifting her a hairpin. But ML says it is nothing, he says it was just something the craftsman made with leftover materials.
Grandmother laughs, asking why he has to turn a compliment into an insult. I think the cousin laughs too. They know how he is too embarrassed to behave romantically.

The second part of the clip is the jealous scene.

The third scene, he asked her what she’s doing, she says, embroidering a pillow. He says he wants to try it out, gets a bit embarrassed and tells her he has a headache.

Last scene is super cute. ML asks her why she isn’t wearing the hair pin he bought her. She says that because it was just something the craftsman made he probably didn’t like it anyway. He said, it wasn’t just casually made, I specially crafted it myself for you! Then she smirks.

Ikr! You have to suspend your disbelief that he’s actually competition!

Also, I don’t find Wei Yan attractive, is it just me?? I always quite like a tragic handsome second male lead!
