I don’t understand his brother. I need someone to explain it to me too. At the beginning he seemed to love XQ at first sight, and I thought he sent Weishao’s jade to her to sow discord (she would think he was visiting the brothel).

But then he said to Weishao he didn’t like her, and in the latest episode tells WS not to fall for her?

Urgh! Is nothing in episode 20? I was really hoping for more romance to fuel my delusions.

I can’t stop staring either! I’ve seen her in modern dramas where she’s cute, but she is an absolute beauty in a period drama like this!

Don’t mean to hate, but I wish Ju Jing Yi would take note of the make up and see that you don’t have to have tik tok make up in a period drama to stand out!

Recently all ML are these one dimensional green flags, cook, clean, get treated badly but pine and wait for years for the FL. It is a very one dimensional naive female fantasy.

The FL is always so selfish I can never see why the MLs care that much.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one! I love her! I find her very natural, and easy to watch. She doesn’t try to be cute, or seem self-conscious or vain like some of the c-drama stars.

I disliked that she got a lot of criticism for her role in Fireworks of my heart - her character was written like that! She was meant to be meek and kind of pathetic. She was really convincing! Then I saw her in Are you the one and I loved her there too. She was confident and her mannerisms weren’t affected. She also was very natural in romance scenes, not behaving like a naive 17 year old - or awkward like her costar gives her the creeps!

I watch mainly cdrama and she was a standout from Fomh. I will always watch her dramas now.

Uuurrrgghhh, just watched the trailers. Why the unnecessary angst and ridiculous dramatics? It’s really really off putting. Haven’t they learnt from Hidden Love that they don’t need any kidnappings or CEO ex-boyfriends to make a great romcom? I could just watch ML and FL flirt for 20 episodes. Watching them suffer in contrived situations is making me ff a lot of it.

I can’t get over Are you the one. On my 50th rewatch, haha.

I sympathise with Sheng Yi. I feel like everyone else is looking at her through a modern day lens. Ignoring the fact l that Mu Dan can only behave like a modern female character because she has rid herself, through luck and determination, of marriage, while also having the skills to support herself and the backing of a powerful person.

Sheng yi relies on mu dan. How is that so different from relying on a husband? She is not business minded. It is risky putting her life in mu Dan’s hands. Mu Dan could die and she’d be destitute. At least with a husband she would inherit his wealth and be a part of his family.

Also, she wants a family. That is not unlike most people now. But a good marriage is not available to her. In real life it would be very unlikely for Mu Dan too. It’s incredibly convenient for the plot that ML only has a helpful aunt, otherwise his family would definitely protest. Shengyi is old, divorced and possibly infertile. She is not a good option on the marriage market. The fact she is going back to her husband shows her lack of choice.

Also, there’s a lot of victim blaming. Abusers can be incredibly charming. That’s how domestic abuse goes on for so long.

My conclusion is Sheng Yi is not an idiot. She’s a woman with few choices, none of them great.

I am so happy to see her with Li Xian again. He’s such a charismatic actor who can hold his own against great actresses. I loved Go Go Squid, but I didn’t always love how immature she was, and how grouchy he was. It’s great to see them with a new dynamic.

He is a super saiyan. Remember he fought 3 bodyguards at once before? Also, do not question how, once they’ve found her and driven for a while, the kidnapper still manages to catch them on foot.

Hot mess, but our main leads are so great that I forgive it.

I am just commenting that HHJ’s hair looks great after having been kidnapped and not having had a shower for a few days. My hair would be messy and hella greasy.
