Have not been following this drama, but was reminded of this after being associated with SOKP. Love Ju jingyi too but now all I can think is: another drama which is gonna be heavily edited because of that damn 40 eps restrictions. How many eps was this originally? I hope its not too far off from 40 so not much was cut. :(

Also if they release this today without any trailers and promo that would be a travesty haha. Idk what fans wants more. At least it's going to air?

Esther Yu is also an idol hence has an advantage, especially in terms of weibo followers. I think Bailu is getting there but definitely not the same level as zhao liying, yang mi, yang zi, or dilreba. Heck, I believe even esther yu is not on their level in terms of popularity. I guess it’s pretty hard to catch up to them especially zhao liying having been the one to popularize xianxia tbh. Plus she’s been in the game longer and is not really past her prime yet. :) I think it has taken bai lu a bit more time to become well known (example, as compared to zhao lusi who is a few years younger than her) because she also started a bit late. search for her age in her first drama, ull see its a bit late compared to other actresses. Anyways, they’re all amazing, although Im a bit more a fan of bai lu haha. More for us to watch! haha.

Oh, I mean the ones mdl listed as her dramas although they are still rumors. As of now Gong yu, Chao xue lu, and a fated bet of love.

It seems SOKP is truly coming soon. I really, really hope the scriptwriter up their game in SOKP. Coming from a novel that is also a bit messy (from reviews), I really hope they make the right changes instead of making it worse.

As much as I'm happy with the success TTEOM got, im pretty sure its not because of the script. I haven't gotten around to posting a formal review on TTEOTM page, and I probably would never. Might be an unpopular opinion, but the only well fleshed out character is the ML, it was disappointing. They sacrificed the characterization of the other casts, and made the ml a saint. ML was supposed to be a villain. :( They changed the ml's character but didnt bother to adjust the others to fit the new dynamic. The middle was messy that people who have read the novel have to justify and explain so much in the comments section of TTEOTM page. The episode restrictions didnt also help and they struggled with it specially towards the end. I love love both leads but the drama was saved by the comparatively good CGI and costumes, and the acting skills and popularity of the leads. Tbh, I really only stayed for the leads. :(

In the end both gained more popularity, so that's still good for them . The drama can still be entertaining. I'm just disappointed because it could have been so much better. Do I just have high standards?

Anyway, hoping for the best for the 2 leads in their next dramas to come.

Edit: suddenly want her also in a wuxia or fantasy like alchemy of souls instead of the usual xianxia fa ntasy. If only we can have 5 dramas of bailu in a year, but that would make her too tired hahaha.

I feel so bad for bai lu. I hope she gets even more popular and can get even more project and prestigious awards so the haters can die of jealousy!!! I also hope she now gets more high end projects where she is #1 billing so her character is not the one sacrificed by episode restrictions and so her acting can shine and less people have bad words to say. She can act phenomenally!!!

Yes I've read the novel. If that's how they choose, I can see how the setting would be wonderful to adapt on drama.
Was curious since this is a not a very popular and well-reviewed novel in novelupdates. Could be because it's not fully translated and few people can tolerate mtl. But then, the reviews on novelupdates are also conflicting. For me, novel was entertaining, but as an avid reader there are definitely a lot more well written novel. Thats why im curious if this is popular in china, hence why this was chosen to be adapted to drama with more budget vs another novel. But looking back, the setting of this novel probably could be one of the reason. :)

I've been curious about something. How popular is this novel in China? Why did they decide to use this novel as a source for their most expensive drama as of to date. I love the drama, it's not perfect but definitely very entertaining, well produced, with good acting. But I can think of several other novels that are more well written with better plot than the source novel so was really just curious on how they choose things in the production side. :)
