I thought this was so much better than cruel romance! Cruel romance was just needlessly angsty and had frustrating plotlines.
*SPOILER* One thing I hate about both dramas is that both female leads try to kill the male lead because they thought he caused her family member's deaths. *SPOILER END*
Other than that I love dramas where male leads aggressively pursues the female lead haha idk why. This was a great watch ❤
This was a promising drama at the start but the female lead was just too foolish. Her character was so dumb and tbh this drama would have been much better without the last 10 episodes.
I was going to start this drama before I almost choked seeing "129 episodes".... I guess its a family drama then. Its longer than chinese historical dramas damn.
I couldn't give this drama a full 10 from me because of Loony's story. He fought so hard to control his drug use…
I was really upset about that too, considering of all the effort he put in and all the help and encouragement he received from the people around him. He was so close to going back to his family and lover too. However, it is absolutely not ridiculous but simply painfully realistic. This is how easy people can succumb to their old addictions in face of a temptation. This is reality.
I just finished this drama and it was alright overall, but near the end I got seriously annoyed by how cookie…
I thought this drama was pretty realistic with all the abrupt prison transfers and hanyang's ending. It realistically shows how there's an end to everything and how hard it is not to relapse to old addictions.
SPOILER Anyone hated hanyang's ending? It was so painfully realistic but heartwrenching to the viewers. I had such high hopes for him and considering how hey had received help and encouragement from so many people around him. He was so close to making it and going back to his family & lover but the show really realistically potrays how addictions are hard to get rid of. 3
I absolutely love these slice of life dramas. How refreshing to have watched a drama about prison life! I have cried a lot through this emotional journey, not because of a certain sad story but because of the numerous touching moments of brotherhood and human relationships. This drama is very realistic (different characters will enter and leave just like real life) and portrays how evil exists but humanity is still alive. Anyone hesitating, do give it a try! You wont regret it!
The first season was one of my favourite chinese short historical dramas. The second season was somewhat lacklustre as the plot was quite bizzare and predictable. I enjoyed watching it anyways but the 1st season was still better.
Okie so I've read the reviews and comments and it seems like the general opinion is that it was a great dark drama which happens to be a tradgedy right? ???? Is it really worth the emotional pain I'm going to go through?
The acting in the drama is fabulous and is one of the best I've seen in a while!! D.O's acting as a psychopath is phenomenal and Park Bo Gum just made me look at him in a new light. His character was so complex and had a child-like innocence along with his genius but violent thoughts. His scenes completely stole the show and the story was heart wrenching. It was an amazing watch and I'm so glad I've seen this. Park Bo Gum needs to get an award for this. The acting was simply perfect.
