exactly I don't know why people hate her she's a great actress too she's one of my fav and I like her the most…
I think the issues people have with JJY is that her characters are played the same way and she never changes visuals.
She basically never goes out of her comfort zone. It's like the same FL will jump through different worlds.
She's a sweet girl but her characters need depth and after a while it gets tiresome watching her series.
And I say this with no hard feelings (this is my 7th series with her & I will continue watching others as she's in a lot of popular series) but I don't have high expectations from her either at this point. And this is sad for an actress as she will never be taken seriously.
I can't believe I say this but it was better acted than a lot of really popular and high budget series.
Dr. Ling is a breath of fresh air as we finally find a main woman with common sense and great intelligence that not only does she not need to be saved by the hero but she even teaches him some valuable lessons.
So many people seem to love this series yet I couldn't connect with the main characters. I was OK-ish with them until they escaped the prison after that it just went downhill for me.
RJL which I normally love seemed boring while his acting felt exaggerated and XF was just plain annoying start to finish (how many times can I bear to hear "A Gou" while she looks with puppy eyes at him)..
This was such a miss for me that I'm shocked with how much I suffered to finish the series.
From an artistic point of view this drama is a piece of art..the light show places a great role to draw attention…
They could've ended this so much better..
I understood that he died and she continues to wait for him, there's no confusion for me there.
The ending is truly miserable for all the main cast. With a better ending or a least confusing one the series would've grabbed better ratings as well.
I have no issues with the age of the actress either but rather with her skills but she's still young and has time to improve.
Her age in the story is historically accurate and nothing inappropriate really happened between them but I guess with such an ending I would've preferred a mature actress for a deeper connection between them.

The first part of the drama ruined it for me..I just couldn't get past the humiliation she had to suffer.
And then I'm supposed to see him in a good light?! Nah, I'm done. As good looking as CYF is, it can't distract me enough from the mess of the storyline.
Their relationship was toxic and shouldn't have been glorified.
The only scene that got emotion out of me was when they caught the butler, he was the star of the series.
The letter says the emperor died and the 6th prince & crown prince followed him in sorrow..
That most likely means that either the 3rd prince's men killed them in his power move (a bit unlikely -but could be plausible - although he is described as a good character) or they killed each other trying to win the position.
This was quite overrated..don't get me wrong, I love short dramas and the main couple was cute but there's too many gaps in the storyline filled with kisses so you forget about them
CHANGE IT TO SOMETHING BETTER THENThe synopsis before (which was translated from main Chinese sites) was literally…
No one is screaming at you, I was pointing out the important bits by using capital letters.
I don't have a link as I'm talking about the former synopsis from THIS site which was just a translation and was full of spoilers. I did my best, you do yours and modify whatever you want whichever way you want. Good luck!
Yes..although the story differes a bit from the novel, the main points remain. I hope they will properlyinclude the extra-chapter as it's quite hilarious.

Killing both concubine Chu and prince Ning was such a bad choice that it basically ruined the story for everyone.
