The leads look good and the scenes could've been spicy but I ended up bursting into laughter at random times because of the bad acting..they're all so stiff. For a weird reason while watching I'm remembering Mike He's older series like Devil Beside You & Why Why Love..it just has that vibe.

It's bad. Although it started somehow promising it went downhill really fast.
Most actors are very stiff and robotic. The story would've been somewhat interesting if presented better. The excuse that it's short is not really applicable..I've seen better dramas that had less minutes in total.
The ML was looking good at the start and his acting isn't bad either, he has charisma. But then they became lazy and gave him a mullet.
The FL is nothing special looks wise or acting but somehow pulls of great chemistry on couple scenes.
SML looks fine as wine (Li Shu), I'll take him over mullet king.
Those are the only good points of the series. The rest is just awkward filling.

It may have sounded rude on my part to reply to a year old comment but if you read it as I did (with my ADHD brain) these questions are cryptonite, I had to find the answer.
My overthinking went above and beyond to learn if the FL was just using the ML, if she loved him, if she cheated, if she was clueless, if she had a greater plan,etc but no..she was quite literally..stupid.
So don't take it personally as it's not meant as an attack on your words at any level but an answer to others like me.

Her and the bodyguard grew up together and she sees him as family. There's no cheating, she loves the prince & the bodyguard loves her.
She's so gullible and stupid that she constantly works against the crown prince (who has saved her life again and again) and doesn't realise that he was also poisoned.
The FL was so frustratingly stupid start to finish. It's been a while since I got so annoyed by a character. I love LZH but this series was a dumpster fire.
Please, for whoever wants to watch this, save yourself the pain..and skip it.
I have too many words to say about this series and none are good. Lost so much time to find it only to be disappointed.

Lin Zhe Hui should start being more selective with his series as he has the looks and talent to become successful one day and people will go back to see his series only to be met by such a bizarre story

If they kept the story at the point where he became a good guy full stop that would've saved the series..we all like a bad guy turned good.
She wasn't the best either..it's easy to hide behind the fact that she was trying to find the truth about her father, but she shouldn't have gone back and forth. Definitely not the brightess lightbulb in the shed.
From the middle bit of the series became mentally draining..I like eye candy but it cannot sustain a story. Nice sexy scenes to build tension but the build up should've lead to a satisfying ending yet it was nothing but.
I appreciate the ML's acting skills though, hope to watch more series with him. I wish I skipped this one though as it annoyed me to no end.
He's such a good actor, have been following him since Back from the Brink. Wish he got the recognition he deserves..fingers crossed he gets bigger roles as his acting range is great

Just finished watching the 1st case. The Kindaichi I remembered was more excentric..I don't know why but I feel this felt a bit off. Maybe I should rewatch the other versions again but..for now I'm not impressed.

She has a big studio behind her and the syling is her own since forever. She was popular in SNH48 and got perks from her visuals.

I do feel quite bad for her as she always gets a lot of hate for her acting but she should get out of her comfort zone and try acting more serious characters. After all these years she's still as stubborn as ever.
She is a talented girl (very good at singing and dancing) and gets a lot of praise but NOT for her acting.
I don't say this to put her down but while she improved over the years, she's still not at a level to be taken seriously in China or internationally.
I continue watching her as I feel with every series she becomes a bit better.
Maybe one day she will blow my mind with her acting! I'm rooting for her.
