I guess the format isn't for everyone, but I am enjoying it so far. I do agree with one of the earlier comments though—if they add any unnecessary love triangle among the leads, I'm out. Lol.

Re-watching because I missed Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi, and I still love this show as much as I did the first time I saw it.

I don’t dislike the cousin... yet. At this point, he seems to be motivated by a strong desire to protect and avenge the queen, believing she tried to kill herself because the king made her feel lonely. Ultimately, his motivations may change so I’m saving my final judgment for when the king finally starts to care for the queen sincerely (as opposed to testing her loyalties). I’m curious if the cousin will become a manipulative jerk then like how Hwa Jin is turning out to be.

Hahaha yes it helps that he looks good :)) And you’re not alone, I pity him as well. I think he may be the only sincere relative of the queen (although this can still change).

could not agree more! and i am also hoping he ends up fighting alongside the king after he realises how oppressive his dad and whole clan actually are. after watching their drinking duel, i realised that he and the king have better bromance chemistry than the king and his brother. lol.

i didn't realise many hated the cousin! i actually like him, and for a time, wished he had gotten together with the queen instead bec he seemed to be the only one who genuinely cared for her. i don't see him coming after the king the same way his adoptive father and the grand queen dowager are. if anything, he seems to be acting on his own accord, motivated only by his desire to protect and avenge the queen. he was right when he said that the most innocent is always the queen. i'm relieved the king is trying to understand her and stopped twisting her words/actions like his brother and concubine keep doing.

i think she's trying to protect him in her own way, but i am also so annoyed at how easily they can turn a blind eye to how much the evil spirit they're all so keen after has messed up his life thus far.

i love this show but the bullying scenes were painful to watch. i can't believe we're going back to that after having gone through four agonising episodes of it already :(((((((

This was soooo cringey and very trope-y but I enjoyed every minute of it :)) Also I love that other than the mother being a semi-roadblock to the relationship, there were no conniving second female or male leads. On the contrary, Meng Na and Wei Lian were so endearing to watch! Can't get over the chemistry of our two leads and Wen Bing in general. Lol.

lol i get you :)) maybe that's the point of her character—on the surface, she seems entitled and rude so you can't help but dislike her. but then again, she's also extremely hardworking and does not take shit from anyone. i like how they wrote her character (same goes for the rest of the leads). she's not one-dimensional like other rich girl CEOs with nasty tempers. and soo young is doing an amazing job playing her!

guilty of this! i really thought she pushed her based on that short clip they first showed of her with the queen in earlier episodes. didn't occur to me that she could've been trying to pull her in. i'm curious to see though if she'll remain as sweet as everyone says she is once the king's feelings toward the queen start to change.

Ooh I was curious about Diary of A Prosecutor last year but got discouraged by the ratings. Will give a try since I loved Be Melodramatic and Hot Stove League (Dear My Friends has been on my to-watch list foreverrrr).

so true. i find it annoying especially when it's this early in the drama and also quite misleading.
