kudos to the show for leaving no trope unturned.

this was a pretty fair and accurate depiction of the show! it didn’t know where it wanted to be on the spectrum of romcom-makjang so many things felt out of place.

actually jen yao was also a perpetrator and the only one willing to pay the price for his crimes.

i like how the show depicted a spectrum of perpetrators—from completely remorseless to (forcefully) apologetic. all of them guilty, and none of them sincerely sorry.

i thought this was beautifully written, but painful to watch.

i really do not feel sorry for the sister. her anger has been displaced since episode one. plus her marketing manager was right to advise her against working with her devious ex. pretty sure he is only using her to gobble up the company she’s worked hard to keep for herself.

it's a pity too because she's one of the more compelling female general characters in drama land.

Concubine Jin is my favourite concubine in drama history. she is soooo over-the-top! I love her.

can they give the ex the death penalty too 😑

lol not sure how young is "too young", but i have friends who started watching at 16

i really wanted to watch until the end for jung so min, but i just can't stomach most of the story (and characters). i might have had more patience for this back in 2016.

gagging at how big the font of the "i took care of it" text message is. it might as well have been a billboard announcement.

how many times has JBZ told MY to stay where he can't see her at this point? so, it's his turn to hide the poison from her? this push and pull is my biggest annoyance with this show—and that's saying a lot considering how annoying MY's brother and situ ling are.

ugh i thought they would at least figure things out together this time. 😑

i got the bo clan descendant wrong, but after that was revealed, i figured out the rest. i like how everything is unfolding so far and am glad mx and jbz are there for each other.
