well that was anti-climactic. this is the first time i've been let down by this show. lol. some of the events in today's episode were pretty significant (even much-awaited) and yet sadly felt so random because of all those time skips. it was like i was going through someone's powerpoint slides -_-

ugh censorship. i get that they're also limited by the number of episodes, but i just think the "passage of time" could've been done better or even similarly to earlier episodes. this one felt like they just flipped through the pages, selected a few random scenes, and rushed to get to the next major part.

were there really this many time skips in the novel? lol. it's just odd how many there are in this one episode when they were far less blatant before

that is so weird. he showed up out of nowhere and then disappeared in the same way.

li congxi's dad's speech felt ominous. as the only decent living father in the drama, i'm going to be so sad when he dies. although i don't agree with what he said about his son's marriage to the wrong bride being fate lol

i saw tomorrow's preview. i really hope he let her in on his scheme especially after she told him they're family now and share the same goals. i get he's bound by his duty to the emperor, but it's also not fair to just expect her to wait for him and be ok with him coming and leaving as he pleases. otherwise, he shouldn't have married her and kept her only as a blade.

actually I thought something would happen to her during the rebellion. I'm glad nothing has happened so far haha

FINALLY. LJQ is finally starting to understand Lan Xiang. what he said also explains why i think there really is no real affection on her part. i'm glad he's seeing things a little more clearly now (maybe he'll even admit the "medicine" is a knockout drug soon), but i can't help but feel they won't grow old together like he wished. he keeps saying things like "i'm still young" or "we have time", which makes me think the opposite. it's the same thing whenever someone tells LX to live well—they die. lol.

so true!!! I find that the drama is well paced and balances inner household life with court drama perfectly. i don’t find any arc excruciatingly draggy

lan xiang and xing tang could've been besties in another life.

pretty much still one-sided though she takes her wife duties seriously

i thought i was the only one who did not really feel they had chemistry, but now they are growing on me as the story progresses. it worked out for the better because it makes sense for their characters' relationship.

I am also curious anxious about what they are talking about in the conversation. "betraying her for a child I've never met" what??? this is what I get for watching trailers when I said I would stop -_-

saaaame. I like how the character and story are written as a whole. his flaws make sense given his status and upbringing. i heard he was even more despicable in the novel.
