to anyone who's read the novel, can you spoil how, in some teasers, JQ and LX end up as commoners on the run? (at least that's what it looked like to me. i don't think they were undercover. lol.) i was wondering if it was because of her real identity or the former crown prince.

he doesn't actually know her, and it shows. the drama is doing a fine job telling us all this. he has a loooooong way to go.

i'm with u. i can understand why he thought there was no other way but to get the emperor to intervene, but i could not wrap my head around why he did what he did later. and dude can't stop bringing up scholar han! like maybe if u paid attention, u could see he's the last thing on her mind rn. domestic jin qi is infuriating but also entertaining. lol.

some people might not enjoy these everyday life, "plot-less" moments in a drama. even i've complained about drama fillers and how they slow down an otherwise well-paced story. but! i thought it was done well here. i can't seem to get enough of them. i liked watching the siblings rally against their grandpa and i want more of the domestic, utterly clueless lin jin qi (minus his underhanded tricks).

dang that plot twist is more twisted than those fried dough twists. and she literally just arrived in the capital.

lin jin qi, lin jin qi. if she put up walls to guard against you before, you can expect her to dig a moat around those walls and fill it with crocodiles after what you did tonight. lol.

I like the music they play whenever Yan Rui is doing / saying something mischievous to Qing Yuan :))

i love all of those shows, and i am enjoying this one so far. i also liked road to splendor :)

i was pleasantly surprised at Jin Qi's mum's reaction to what happened during their wedding night, and i love how DEEPLY that scene affected Jiu Gao (to Nanke's detriment). like master, like aide. lol. i feel sorry for Lan Xiang, but i really enjoyed seeing the mischievous side of Jin Qi.

girl has balls. the way she looked disgustingly at her father was intense.

i really hope scholar han doesn't change especially after that hijacked marriage proposal. rather than a romantic partner, she needs reliable friends more.

you perfectly summed up how I felt when I watched manyi's last scene — I hated her but still respect her.

he could change in the future, for sure, but lan xiang's relationship with scholar han up to the night he bid her farewell is so pure. i also liked how they concluded manyi's story. though both treacherous, she's nothing like her spineless, short-sighted father.

agreed. i don't particularly like his family, especially the elders, but that's exactly what makes having siblings/cousins like that even more precious.

I don't blame her for hating the daughter of her supposed killer, but she doesn't have to be mean to the eldest sister.

i hope the two younger sisters only marry men they deserve—someone exactly like them.

omg the marriage proposal(s) scene gave me goosebumps and is now my personal favourite proposal in a drama. not in a romantic sense, obvs, but in terms of impact and ~drama~. i also love how they split the scene between the two families in the same way they did with jin qi's first wedding and young lan xiang receiving his wedding cake.

can someone spoil if he recognises her already as his childhood friend?
