Thank you for raising points that I missed - they made sense. It was really in their generation where fate took on a different route, especially where they made it possible for Wen Xiao (the Baize) to live.

I guess a conclusion with an open ending gives the fans and the viewers a prerogative to make their own interpretation. At least, we can say it's bittersweet ending, but not entirely a sad one.

Thank you :)

This is my first time writing a review for a drama, ever! I was compelled to write it because I really find the cinematography so beautiful. I also grew fond of the cast because of their amazing chemistry even behind the camera.

And I agree with you - this would have been a great masterpiece, but there are areas that could have been better. Still, it's definitely worth the watch! I enjoyed the series, especially in some parts where they incorporated the right comedic timing.

Got it! I usually don't pay attention to the staff working behind the scenes as I tend to focus on the cast and how a story is executed. I'll take the time to check the directors and writers next time to distinguish their distinct storytelling techniques from the others. This should make watching more fun!

Title Fangs of Fortune Spoiler
I'm very confused about the ending.
So Zhao Yuan Zhou must die by the Cloud Light Sword in order to save the world and break the cycle of having a new vessel being born to contain the malicious energy.

While ZhuoYi Chen had accomplished this, he extracted a strand of Yuan Zhou's soul before ultimately killing him. Does this mean Yuan Zhou did actually live and survive? Does this also mean that the cycle did not break at all and he will continue to be a vessel of the malicious energy once he regains a form/body?

I see. I'm new to Cdramas, so this is something new I've learned about today. Maybe I'll see a pattern or a trademark once I get to explore GJM's other works. Thank you!

I don’t know about others but Hou Minghao was crying for real and you can see it through the behind the scenes…
I haven't seen any FoF fancams nor BTS videos yet, but I sincerely agree that Neo is a great actor. He's one of the first actors who instantly became a favorite of mine after I recently ventured into Cdramas! His body language and micro expressions when portraying a character are so good!

Your theory makes sense! πŸ˜†

Though I think some scenes had artificially induced tears, but nothing wrong with that! One eye or two eyes crying, both are beautiful! πŸ˜‚

I also think some tears might be artificially induced in some scenes, as some appear a bit too aesthetically perfect. Additionally, the timing of these are a way too flawless, too!

I find it amazing how they can seamlessly incorporate this into scenes. I wonder how they make this work lol.

Anyway, I appreciate your input on this. Thank you!

Are the tears in FoF real or artificial? Sometimes they come down perfectly and continuously. I do not doubt the capabilities of the actors--I know the cast can act, but the teardrops are just too perfect, sometimes, they even appear so round (I also think the tears are affected by the lens they wear)!

I also noticed that the characters like shedding tears all the time lol, so they cry so perfectly, as if on cue!

Wen Xiao: We just fought together. Now, you are asking someone to kill you. You demons are truly heartless.
Zhao Yuan Zhou: I also hope you could be equally heartless. Because people with hearts live in misery.
Zhuo Yi Chen (at Zhao Yuan Zhou): You lack a heart. But aren't you living in agony, too?

Fangs of Fortune (2024) tidbit
The flowers Zhao Yuan Zhou gave to Wen Xiao were wax flowers (chamelaucium). They symbolize deep, lasting love, possessing the strength to endure any length of time, and riches and enduring wealth.

When you said "wax flowers," I initially thought they were flowers made of wax! I had to look it up on Google to know that they are actually real flowers called chamelaucium, which, aside from riches and enduring wealth, also symbolize lasting love, like what you said.

Thank you for this tidbit! This is something I wouldn't know if I didn't come across your comment.
