OMG, I honestly thought I was being weird for feeling the same way! My initial reaction was definitely one of discomfort and even a bit of disgust 😅 so thank you! I really needed that validation 😆

I do respect the cultural and philosophical significance behind dual cultivation, and I think it could actually be a good concept to explore (especially since I haven’t come across a series that portrays it). But in this context, it feels sensationalized. Like it was reduced to a mere narrative device to push romance and hint at eroticism. I just wish it were handled with more grace and deeper (and better!!) context.

Ah, yes. The legalities of their marriage are a bit tricky. Technically, Meri and Woojoo are still husband and wife on paper, since she hasn’t submitted the divorce papers—at least not by the episode I last watched, if I’m remembering right. But emotionally and situationally, they were clearly “separated”. Given that, I don’t think what Meri did with the other ML Woojoo counts as cheating.

I usually prefer MDL ratings over other websites, but I’ve noticed they’re not always reliable lol.

And yes, I agree with you. I’ve come across a few series that leaned heavily on technique, which can sometimes be mistaken for adding actual substance to the story. Though I wouldn’t say I have expertise in aesthetics either. To be honest, all my reviews are based purely on personal preference 😆

While others might enjoy a series with beautiful cinematography even without solid writing or a coherent storyline, I personally find it as a huge imbalance in the overall experience. Anyway, it’s rare to find a drama that nails both technique and writing.

I’ve never teamed up with anyone to review a show. I mostly write reviews as a way to keep track of the ones I’ve watched (I have a goldish memory 🥲) and to practice my English and writing (since it’s not my first language). I’m not sure how co-reviewing works, but I’m curious!

I haven’t seen The Princess Royal yet, but I totally get what you mean about the time travel. It really doesn’t seem to add much to the story actually.

Totally agree. With all the physical trauma Dong Ju’s been through, he should’ve been dead ten times over. So I think the show kinda veers off from being realistic. That said, if he ends up really dying in the end, it makes all the fighting and everything they endured feel pointless.

I remember Mirae's reaction when Sejin called her by her real name, and you're correct that there wasn't an ounce of surprise on her face at all. It must be because they've talked about it beforehand and the writers just didn't intend to directly show it to the viewers.

Anyone has a theory on how Sejin figured out it's Mirae he's been working and hanging out with all along? It feels like Sejin just blurting out "Mirae" on a random day became the indicator for the audience that he knows about the switch, but I might have missed something...

If you have watched the Hospital Playlist and would be picking this up with expectations, I'd say you have to manage it. Like Hospital Playlist, romance is just a subplot - personally, the leads' romance was mid, but it's not that bad.

There is also a slight romance for the secondary characters, but it doesn't solidify and is left open.

But isn't eliminating people the point of the show? Every player wanted to do that to secure a win. The only difference is HG is brutally honest and straightforward about it. Everyone plotted against each other, which is why I don't understand why HG is being crucified for what everyone also did.
