idk hyungyu in person but I didn't understand why is he so wild? Like be chill. Hate him in the reality show but…
Personally, HG was actually doing it right. A "chill" participation would render the game pointless and less fun. It was good he went all in. He perfectly understood the assignment - he was capable of entirely separating the game from reality (he was always reiterating that he'd treat the players better outside the game). He was also very self-aware about his actions, and again, he said it was really just for the games.
I guess the disagreement among the players was mainly because they couldn't come to terms with how HG was playing, but if you're actually looking at HG's "attitude," I'd say the other players were no better, really.
But I agree with you - I also don't know him personally. How he acted in the game does not entirely reflect how he is as a person.
Open ending. A protagonist's fate was left ambiguous.
I’m referring to the guy/ML.
Yes, the girl/FL is supposed to die, but as a grim reaper, ML tried to change the course of FL’s fate so she can live.
But grim reapers must not change anyone’s fate—their job is to collect souls.
In the drama, once a grim reaper violates the law (this was not further explained, but we can assume it’s related to changing someone’s fate or interfering with something that has already been destined), a grim reaper would disappear—again, this was not further clarified, so this is also up to the viewer’s own interpretation.
In the end, the ML was able to “save” FL. We could see in the last scenes how FL is trying to move forward in her life, but ML is no longer present.
When I said that the “a protagonist's fate was left ambiguous,” I meant this under this context. Since ML violated something as a grim reaper, did he also disappear? The last scenes do not show him nor his existence as a grim reaper. The ending did not categorically show that ML disappear as well, so the writer left this entirely to the viewers’ interpretation on how it ended for him.
how is this compared to hospital playlist? is it as heartwarming?
As heartwarming as Hospital Playlist!
The writing is extremely similar, probably because they have the same screenwriter. Overall feel, tone, and theme of the drama is very much the same with Hospital Playlist, too.
I am a huge fan of Hospital Playlist and I'm enjoying this series so far.
I think ive watched 20+ episodes.. i kept on hoping the story would get better.. but it really is boring.
Wow, you held on pretty well! I wanted to continue watching to make sense of the high ratings, but seeing the characters run in circles became too unbearable to watch.
Anyone who knows the title of the soundtrack playing in the last minutes of the last episode? The lyrics go "... in that place where we called home I'm coming home".
I'm not sure if it's an English song, but Googling it doesn't help me narrow down as a lot of other songs with similar lyrics come up.

Thank you for raising points that I missed - they made sense. It was really in their generation where fate took on a different route, especially where they made it possible for Wen Xiao (the Baize) to live.
I guess a conclusion with an open ending gives the fans and the viewers a prerogative to make their own interpretation. At least, we can say it's bittersweet ending, but not entirely a sad one.
I don't think I've ever agreed more with a FoF review until I read yours. If the writing had been better and more…
Thank you :)
This is my first time writing a review for a drama, ever! I was compelled to write it because I really find the cinematography so beautiful. I also grew fond of the cast because of their amazing chemistry even behind the camera.
And I agree with you - this would have been a great masterpiece, but there are areas that could have been better. Still, it's definitely worth the watch! I enjoyed the series, especially in some parts where they incorporated the right comedic timing.
I think the one eyed tear effect is GJM specifically shooting them that way. Being able to cry well is thought…
Got it! I usually don't pay attention to the staff working behind the scenes as I tend to focus on the cast and how a story is executed. I'll take the time to check the directors and writers next time to distinguish their distinct storytelling techniques from the others. This should make watching more fun!
So Zhao Yuan Zhou must die by the Cloud Light Sword in order to save the world and break the cycle of having a new vessel being born to contain the malicious energy.
While ZhuoYi Chen had accomplished this, he extracted a strand of Yuan Zhou's soul before ultimately killing him. Does this mean Yuan Zhou did actually live and survive? Does this also mean that the cycle did not break at all and he will continue to be a vessel of the malicious energy once he regains a form/body?

I see. I'm new to Cdramas, so this is something new I've learned about today. Maybe I'll see a pattern or a trademark once I get to explore GJM's other works. Thank you!
I don’t know about others but Hou Minghao was crying for real and you can see it through the behind the scenes…
I haven't seen any FoF fancams nor BTS videos yet, but I sincerely agree that Neo is a great actor. He's one of the first actors who instantly became a favorite of mine after I recently ventured into Cdramas! His body language and micro expressions when portraying a character are so good!
