After completing the drama, I wonder if it could work if they had altered the plot a bit. If they made Hae Sung survive the crash but is still blamed and sent to prison. There they could have say he was released 12 years later and still see how his loved ones struggled to live when he was sent to prison. Therefore you would get the happier ending with him being alive. But then it cancels out the supernatural aspect of the drama.
I'm 3 episodes in and I'm sorry but I dislike the FL's voice so much. It gives me a headache listening to it. I really wanted to like this drama and continue watching mainly because of Dylan, but I can't handle it anymore.
I'm in the minority as you and other few people as I disliked this drama. I dropped it after 3 episodes. My main reason I dropped it was your first and main point about this drama. It frustrated me so much seeing the FL doing these dastardly deeds even if she was desperate for money. I'm thankful for reading your review and another one to find out that she wasn't accountable for those horrible things she did.
I've only seen the first 3 episodes and I'm already hooked. The ML has already become a favorite of mine.
They already sold me on loving the ML Hae Sung in 2 episodes. In my eyes, he fits the perfect ML that I like. He's caring, friendly, optimistic, and responsible. In short he is a wholesome guy with the biggest heart ever, He is the oldest brother of a family of 5 siblings and a grandmother they live with. He takes care of his 2 young sisters and 2 young brothers. The actors playing the roles of his family looked so happy that I really didn't want him to die. He cooks food for them and he wanted to become a chef. It was mentioned from Jung Won that he wanted to go to law school but changed his dream to be a chef. She thinks that he changed his dream so he can save some money for his younger siblings and their tuition fees. Then of all the days, he died on his birthday due to a car crash.
But he is now resurrected 12 years later. Why has he been resurrected? Is there a meaning behind him being resurrected 12 years later? Why not 10? Did the guy that he saw hurt lying in blood at the school at night die or not? If so was Hae Sung blamed as the culprit for his death? So many questions that I have and hope for them all to be answered as I continue watching.
Sadly I'm accepting that he won't be living onwards at the end and he will vanish away. But the story that is gonna be told is making me feel sad already. We are already shown that his youngest brother works with loan sharks now living his life not the way Hae Sung imagined. If it turns out his other siblings are living their life sad and struggling like thier youngest brother, then Hae Sung will be the saddest person of them all. I can see that Hae Sung will make the best of his time resurrected and help his siblings out so this time they aren't sad and struggling. Just the thought of what I think will happen is making me shed tears.

I agree. I too enjoyed this drama. The only thing I can agree with the people that complain about this drama was the forced romance. I enjoyed Kame's acting here especially the emotional scenes talking about his mother.
Anytime I am feeling down, I'm going to rewatch this drama or watch the scenes between Oguri Shun and Ishihara Satomi. It's my new comfort drama. Anytime I look back at this drama, I can't help but smile. The chemistry the 2 had were astonishing.
I strongly have some similar feelings of this drama like your review. Although most people thought the first 10 episodes or the episodes involving the older Hye Ja was boring, I thought it was good. I liked how she accepted being an elderly person and the lessons she learned/taught along the way.
Then that plot twist for the last 2 episodes confused me. Everything that happened was just a dream of Hye Ja who is actually a elderly person. So her "brother" doesn't have a sister after all. I felt a little upset because of how invested I was in the plot of how she became a elderly person and how she would eventually transform back to her "normal" self. I also wondered how they would connect all of the moments she interacted and impacted Joon Ha's life to the eventual romantic happy ending. Although there is a comment by a user named TuRaCh that better explained how the life she lived in her dream connected to the actual present. The ending to this drama shows her son realizes her mother Hye Ja actually did love him when he discovers that she was the one sweeping the snow off the stairs and such so he wouldn't slip.
Some things I don't understand is how she became more of a lively caring person as she became old compared to how she looked dead inside younger when she raised her son. Or how the thugs in her dream now work in the hospital as good people. That one irritated me.
Those last 2 episodes were very difficult to watch after seeing what her past was like. First Hye Ja and Joon Ha's son gets hit by a car and loses his leg in this accident. Then Joon Ha is trapped in the jail while being questioned and beaten. Maybe I forgot but did they ever explain to what was the reason he had to be questioned and then beaten to death? The scene that hit very deep is when she goes to the police station to retrieve her husbands ashes and items only to find out the watch she gave him is not there. She confronts the douchebag officer and sees him wearing the watch which she starts to explode. When she started to scream at him to give back the watch then scratching his hand leaving a scar, that was very depressing to see it unfold.
After watching the drama, I understood why she didn't show much care and pity for her son. When I was watching it, I was disliking her for not showing much care to him. Even though the bastard officer gave her the watch back at the hospital he was in as well, I still find it hard to forgive him.
Some or most people disliked seeing the old "Hye Ja" as the MC for the drama and wanted the "normal/younger" Hye Ja to return, but I enjoyed it. The drama for those episodes where she became a elderly person delivered good life lessons/issues/messages about the elderly. The one that hit me hard was the reasoning of her friend Choi's suicide. Choi felt not wanted anymore from her son when she met him again. Then her letter revealing how she wanted to be Joon Ha's mother. If only she could have stayed alive to make that happen.
There's a lot in this story. I watched this a year ago, but boy did it leave a huge impression. "A life with regrets"…

I ended up watching this drama because I came across the song sung between Jung Eun Ji and Seo In Guk on youtube. But after watching 5 episodes, I dropped it. This always happens to me where I come across a song from a drama before I watch it and I like it where I go watch the drama. Then a couple episodes in, I end up dropping it for reasons.

I don't remember if they ever mentioned Soo Yeon dreamed of becoming a pilot. I agree with some that say this was a bad way of portraying a person with a disability. I don't love the idea of a person using his disabled arm support and legs to fight and other stuff. The whole plot of the gang related to his brother was annoying, boring, and confusing where we don't see how that end at all. I wish they removed the gang/thugs and all the fighting or strengths of his disabled arm support. I wished this drama was more like a slice of life.
I wish someone would remake this drama or make a drama like this but with a better script. I want the ML to be have the same background. He had a poor childhood. His mother didn't care for him much and was a lone a lot until his mother remarried and had a new brother based on my prediction. A disable ML/person you really feel pity for unlike those that are rich/fame.
So that ending is he left for a year somewhere. He came back at the airport where Yeo Reum runs to hug him. They never showed his face for a reaction only Yeo Reum. I seen others comment that maybe the ML actor was busy and couldn't be there to record that scene.

Just watched the 1st episode and my god I wasn't prepared for this. That episode made me think that MDL should have some extra tags or a level meter for the amount of comedy is in a drama. I'm not the biggest fan of Romcoms or just Comedys. I was waiting during the episode if it would ever calm down.
I enjoyed it more than I expected. I was shocked at the amount of characters that were killed by the villain. The villain was believable with their backstory for revenge. The flashback scene where he kills Miho (Fushimi's wife) always haunt me. The way he would let her talk to him through face time on the phone then quickly he dragged her out and stabbed her while the phone was still on.
The Sensei's big bodyguard guy was very tough to beat until we find out he takes pills to help him stay focus and strong. He was too strong to beat but Minatogawa stole his pills earlier on that helped Fushimi defeat him as he was losing focus. The fight scenes between him and Fushimi were very good that look like fight scenes you might see in the 90s.
I don't like that tease at the end where Haruka (Yuri's sister) is shown with a bag that has the villain's logo on it. That might mean she was cured by him somehow and is brainwashed into the group now even though he is in prison. If they ever do a season 2 I wonder how that will play out.
My favorite of all the country's school uniform has to be China's tracksuit. It is not the most fashionable but the comfort must be great. The colors of the tracksuit are kind of catchy too. As someone who he has weak taste in fashion, I wish the schools in America had uniforms required like those tracksuits but also affordable for students. Or I wish I was born in a Asian country going to school wearing uniforms. I'm one of the few that likes the idea of wearing uniforms to school.
