One of the rare finales to a drama where you can just chill watching it. The villain I think quits from his position of ceo as the company is plummeting and that's how his fate ends.
There's a time skip to 1 year later. The band is more popular winning awards. The surprise is that Jae Hoon has decided to quit the band to go back studying. Now I'm not a fan of this idea. Before he met these guys, he followed his mother's orders basically living out her life. The team fought to convince her mother and Jae Hoon to decide for himself what he wants to do. He eventually joined and now a year later he quits to study which is what his mother wanted before. He made that decision for himself his mother didn't influence him. We don't even get a scene if she accepts his decision or encourages him to stay being in the band. I don't get that decision for the character at all unless it was just a poor excuse to introduce Park Eun Bin as the guest character who takes over as the drummer.
A season 2 with Park Eun Bin in the main cast as the drummer would have been hyped. Very nice to see Yun Soo confess he likes Min Joo to her. There was no follow up if she accepted him or not. Geun Rin goes back to school now that they're wealthy. The show ends with the band walking down the red carpet for an awards show they were nominated for an award.
I have to say that I have enjoyed the cast of Mango entertainment.
Maybe they will resolve it in the finale but that was kind of odd to how they wrapped up the side plot of Suk Ho and the songwriter he drove to take his life. Suk Ho wanted to confess he drove that songwriter(similar to Ha Neul's brother) to die when he gave away his song to someone else. But then the brother of the songwriter mentions his brother didn't leave a suicide note behind. He later mentions his father is bedridden and doesn't want to inform him when he wakes up that his son died. Now Suk Ho has to live with this guilt instead of him wanting to accept his punishment. Unless they gives us more info in the finale, this seems like a cheap way to make Suk Ho not having to go to prison for the event he caused.
The best line of the show was here from Yun Soo telling to Min Joo "you're cuter than Geu Rin." 😆 I would agree with him. I'm glad they didn't have like 2 love triangles going on between 4 people. Watching this makes me wish we got a show where Yun Soo and Min Joo were the leads and get the focus on their story.
They actually went through it. The case is now closed thankfully. Ji Young and Kim Joo Han were in on it together originally to frame Jinu for SA but it failed so they switched to blaming Ha Neul for it. But I don't get it if they were in on it together and she kept threatening him, she was also gonna get found out if she released that video. Why were they gonna frame Jinu for this? Then Ha Neul decides he doesn't want the 2 to be severely punished. All those times you suffered from those 2 framing you living on with their life normally yet you don't want them to be punished. Such a letdown having to watch the amount of episodes of this nonsense for them to be let off easily.
Looks like the last few episodes will focus on the past events of Ha Neul's brother's that led to today. Something doesn't seem right. Lee Joon Seok KTOP ceo back then sold the song of HN's brother to a different company in fear his company would go bankrupt. The brother was devastated about it he took his life. Suk Ho was away on a trip back then. Back in the present they're Suk Ho is discussing with a producer about doing a music show where the band sings older songs. One of them is for Ha Neul to sing the song his brother wrote but sold to a different artist to sing. Suk Ho doesn't recognize it at all? He was HN's brother friend back then and knows he wrote the song. Does he have amnesia?
An observation from the drama is how similar the 2 situations happen. Suk Ho's best friend asked and begged for his song back to the KTOP ceo but was denied then he took his life. Back in the first episode, the situation happened again only this time Suk Ho was in the CEO's spot refusing the songwriters plead which he took his life too. The KTOP ceo continued on with this approach while Suk Ho repent from the incident afterwards.
Fine I get it that they're not blood related siblings but making Ha Neul like Geu Rin too feels weird. They were living as sister and brother for years and only know he has feelings for her because......... he feels a bit jealous seeing her bonding well with Suk Ho. Just throw the romance plot out.
I sure hope Suk Ho opened that video to make sure it is the one before he went to the police station. I sure hoop they wouldn't make him be a FOOL to reveal the video to the police only to open it up as not the video of the incident. I want this nonsense plot to end but I see there are quite a few episodes left and I just know they're gonna drag it.
Ok let's talk about Yun Soo and his ex in this episode. I kind of got it right that his character focus episode was going to be related to his ex showing up all of a sudden. She actually showed up in the episode before during their fan festival. It's revealed they got married and lived in a basement struggling to get by. She went out to buy milk formula only to never come back. She left with her mother who influenced her to leave him because of the poor life they were going through. She only decided to meet up with him because she saw him on tv in the band popular now. But she breaks his heart by telling him she's getting married again. So this was her last time to see Chan Hee. I'm glad they didn't go the route where she wants to get back together again now that he's famous.
After she leaves in a taxi, Chan Hee wakes up from his nap crying knowing that was his mother and he will never see her again. Yun Soo breaks down into tears too. Min Joo arrives to cheer both up.
They're building it up with all these moments between Suk Ho and Geu Rin as a couple but I'm not fully bought into it. Something feels lacking. I don't think her character as the FL hasn't feel as impactful to the story and a love interest for Suk Ho. If they want to end up with one couple, make Min Joo and Yun Soo together. I like that ship better.
Good news is that Ha Neul is cleared from his "crime". But the bad news is that this mystery incident is not yet resolved. It looks like it's pointing to Ji Young and Kim Joo Han set this all up? But why does she control him if they were in it together? The shoes shown of the unidentified person is said to be a gift from Jinu to Joo Han.
I feel like we're losing the main plot here. I think it was supposed to be Suk Ho and his revenge on the company that kicked him out behind the scenes by starting his own company with his artists to be more successful as theirs. I guess a way for this drama to end would be the band is playing in a stadium show sold out crowd showing they made it.
I'm so done with this case dragging and being forced as the mystery plot.
Let me guess, for Yun Soo(the single father) his sub plot will be something like his ex/mother of his kid comes back and wants her son. Which makes him choose to leave him with her so his band career will be fine or keep him around because he doesn't want to ever abandon him like her.
