So far I'm really enjoying how the FL is flirty/teasing with the ML. She's strong while he's currently weak. I wish we'd get more dramas with this flirty type of a FL
The FL was just unbearable and awful. She didn't bother to check her phone which was a call from her daughter who was kidnapped because she was busy negotiating a drug deal for cash with the chaebol. Then Kim Young Kwang's character literally went to save her daughter from being killed. She did not deserve to be a mother after this. I never understood how people were shipping the leads together.
I had this drama on hold for couple years and coincidentally enough the next episode I had to watch was episode 14 where the reveal happen. As you mentioned in your review, I do agree with you about the way she reacted to the truth made me upset. Now I wish I didn't try to finish this drama again .
I think this is an unpopular opinion but I did not enjoy the romance in this show and wished there wasn't any. I would have been fine with slight romance or just teasing it. I also didn't like the team/family aspect of the company. Then the biggest issue I have that made me drop the drama was how very annoying the Pyo family company were.
I can agree a bit with others on how the last couple episodes wrapped up. I think the main villain should have…
Something I don't quite like is not giving us a resolution to Ma Ri's character goal. Her grandfather sent her to Ji Hoon's office to learn and work under Ji Hoon for a short amount of time. They decided to throw in the plot late where Ji Hoon leaves them to i guess clear up his mind. We get a time skip and she is already back working as a lawyer under her grandfather's company. So like the result of her character growth felt weak.
I can agree a bit with others on how the last couple episodes wrapped up. I think the main villain should have been introduced couple episodes earlier. They made the killer guy a joke after his introduction. He killed the MC's fiancee and a ceo but then becomes weak/afraid of the MC. Ji Hoon quit as a prosecutor many years ago I believe now but once the culprits have been caught, he gets to be hired again and is the prosecutor on the case now. I didn't understand much why he needed to disappear and take a long break.
I'm kind of surprised there is a mixed reaction to the couple of episodes focusing on the MC's backstory and serious…
It told us the reason why he charges 1000 won for his clients. So his fiancee opened up that office and I believe her goal was to help any people for a cheap price. After she died, Ji Hoon decided to live out her dreams and be the one dollar lawyer there. At first I thought that maybe the reason he charges 1000 won for his clients could be in his past, 1000 won was a huge impact in a certain event for him. Maybe his family was poor and one of his parents was in trouble needing a lawyer but he only had 1000 won. So he would promise to help any clients for a low fee of 1000 won.
One thing I wonder after the backstory is how does Ji Hoon become this cold hardworking person into a funny guy.
wtf was that endimggg??? such a lame way to end things,
It was a callback to the first episode where the MC arrives to the scene of a client who is in a crisis needing his service of the one dollar lawyer. What were you expecting?
Ep 8: I'm stunned. These past couple episodes about the past of Ji Hoon as a prosecutor was breathtaking. Yes he was a different person. He was much more of a cold person who barely smiled just was a hard worker. Until lawyer Lee Joo Young entered his life. She has become maybe my favorite guest character of a drama that played a wonderful important role to the MC's past. I've never been this moved by a guest character and the romance with the ML. This was all short term!
The hints were there that she would have died in the past because she's not around anymore and Ji Hoon visited a grave earlier on in the drama. I was worried they had her die in some random car crash but thankfully not and she died to the schemes of the likely main villain of the drama. So she dies in a train when the assassin probably stabs her even with people around. Ok some parts I find kind of ridiculous leading up to this. Earlier at the law firm as she was gathering her stuff to leave, she bumped into a mystery guy and they both drop their files. They both had the same style of envelope and they picked up the wrong one. Hours later, the mystery man goes to meet with another mystery man to give him that envelope of what's inside until he opens to find it's the wrong one. So he sends someone to retrieve his envelope from her. Guess what, hours have passed by and Joo Young didn't open the envelope too until after that guy opened his.
She opens it and is shocked. She calls Ji Hoon to meet up. The assassin sneaks into her office to find the envelope only for it not to be here. She seems to be far away from her office by now and is in a train. But the assassin made it inside the train too!? I know it's for the plot but if she just opens her envelope right after picking up fron the floor from the mix up, she wouldn't die. Because the other guy didn't bother to check his envelope of the right stuff until hours later. She would have met up with Ji Hoon with no worries.
So I really enjoyed this backstory. I admired the acting of Namkoong Min when he was crying. I like the small details of his eyes being red for a bit longer in the episode. He's going through the grief.
I was introduced to Chun Ji Hoon in Taxi Driver season 2 when he made a cameo. Then as I watched episode 6 for One Dollar Lawyer, Lee Je Hoon makes a cameo here! This would be before Taxi Driver season 2. Oh the joy I felt when they started playing the Taxi Driver soundtrack. That music is freaking good. Lee Je Hoon actually made another cameo in Namkoong Min's "Hot stove league" drama.
