Was just having this conversation with a friend the other day. His appearance in the beginning was my favorite.…
I almost have the exact opposite opinion. In Taiyuan, even though he was the official king, it was more obvious that people assumed that he was just a puppet. Qi Zhen was more obviously in control. Whereas in Tai Quan, even though he’s just the crown prince, his father has a much more relaxed grip on the government. He’s obviously the king and has final say, but overall people are already pushing Wu Ji into more prominent roles and expecting him to take over the reins already. Overall I do still think the wardrobe department is doing a good job, but definitely prefer his previous appearance.

Who else likes wuji in his bun more than his hair down? I mean he looks good either way but i miss his bun so…
Was just having this conversation with a friend the other day. His appearance in the beginning was my favorite. The pulled up hair and fitted clothes. His hair now doesn't do his face justice and I feel like he had a more regal, powerful air to him compared to now with his flowy robes and whatnot. I almost wish they had reversed it.

DID ANYONE WATCH EP 36 RAW OMG the scene between Wuji and Fuyao in this episode is soooooo saddddd and gooooood…
this show keeps delivering more and more goodness to the audience! I'm honestly such a fan right now. It's on its way to being one of my favorites. I'm just praying that it keeps it up for the second half of the drama. I think they both did a really good job in these recent episodes.

In ep 34, when Wu Ji finds Fu Yao after that huge scene, his anger felt so real I honestly got a bit scared for no reason. And honestly all of Ethan's scenes have been really good in my opinion. He's been really good at switching between his playful flirtation self and his more political and harsh demeanor side.

Yang Mi has been surprising me a lot too. I really like this character for her. She's spunky but still has that regal demeanor to her that she did with Bai Qian, but her personality is so much more entertaining in this drama.

OMG EPISODE 34 ASDKFJKLSF MY GOODNESS
I read this comment before watching it so I was trying to prepare myself. I WASNT PREPARED. OMG. The whole time I was like “OMG FU YAO. NO! NO!” And then it became “OMG FU YAO YAAAS”. Ughh this might be one of my new favorite dramas. The plot is well paced for me, storyline keeps me guessing, damn good chemistry between the leads, and even more so I love this type of relationship where it’s playful and joking and whatnot and not just cutesy and romantic. Ugh so good.

I started this like three days ago and I'm already going onto episode 23 and I'm h o o k e d.
Same <33 I got so hooked I couldn’t bother to wait for subs and have been watching the raw episodes as they air daily. I think it’s a decent sign that 30+ episodes in and I’m still super into it. Here’s hoping it has a steady progression the whole
Way through and doesn’t fall flat

Title Meteor Garden Spoiler
Finished the first two episodes: can’t say i’m In love with t yet. It’s definitely cute and nostalgic but as someone who really likes this story (especially the original TW version) and has seen all the remakes, I feel like they’re rushing through the story so much in only the first two eps.

It’s already at the story when they go on vacation and DMS crashes her vacation and the episode ends as she’s getting dressed up for the party. But there’s 48 episodes to be aired! Idk what’s gonna happen in the rest of the series if it’s already moving this fast.

Secondly, I dislike some of the changes they’ve made:

The school isn’t a rich kid school, just a prestigious university. There’s no mention so far of DMS’ family owning the school (unless I missed something which is plausible cause i’m Not 100% fluent) and so the whole reason why F4 is popular has changed (spoiler: they play bridge...?).

They’ve taken away the whole storyline of the kids T school helping DMS bully people and harassing them (which honestly is more realistic, but that’s part of the story of why she really dislikes him). Now he just shoves people around a little and makes snarky comments - but nothing particularly bad has happened.

I’m definitely gonna keep watching, but it’s not a great start for me honestly.

I'll watch it if Fu yao become a big hit like TMOPB. 60's episode something is a long run. The first wuxia (?)…
I really like it so far (on episode 15 currently). Ethan ruan’s Character is probably my favorite right now because he’s got this playful/mischievous side to his character which is a lot of fun to watch. Hopefully it’ll hold up to other great wuxia dramas.

I do plan on starting this eventually. My understanding is that it was going to be more political with romance…
So far it's been fairly well balanced for me. Fu Yao's main story line at the beginning was mostly romantic and then it got into struggles in her sect. There is an ongoing political/power move plot going on at the same time, so again pretty balanced. I liked TMOPB but they were definitely heavily focused on the romance. I think Fu Yao will be better in that aspect.

This drama is totally epic!!!! Can't wait to watch episodes 9-12 English subs. Anyone who knows where to watch…
It's been uploaded on Viki and Dramafever as it airs. Viki (where I'm watching it) has had the day's episodes up and subbed by my time each night. It's also getting uploaded on youtube, but subs are taking longer there.

Okay, so I see this drama is moving at a good pace I am really liking the first 8 eps. I see myself being guilty…
I'm so far really excited by all the lead actors. Yang Mi, Ethan Ruan, Liu Yi Jun, Vengo Gao, etc. It's been a really good first few episodes. Can't wait for the rest to come out ^_^

If you are comparing this to TMOPB I hope it’s good....cause that’s some really big shoes to fill. I had been…
Same here. I’m really hoping it’ll give me the same feelings that TMOPB gave me. I felt like the former was just overall well done. The story was paced well, the acting was consistent. The plot was understandable and not hard to follow. There were few issues I had with that drama.

So far i’ve Enjoyed LOFY. I’m just hoping it keeps up its pace and doesn’t fall flat. We have two months to go, so plenty of time to see where it takes us.

In the first 8 episodes itself ,LOFY has gained a special place in my heart. Also a lots of expectations. Expecially…
Same, the “stoic, cold, masculine, brave, doesn’t know how to express his feelings” male lead is really over done. I think Fu Yao right now is edging on stereotypical female “loyal, loving, innocent, will do anything for the ones she loves” but I can tell she’ll grow and mature in the coming episodes and develop more as a character.

Even though Untouchable Lovers has both of these standard leads (with the added brilliant but manipulative Rong Zhi) I still weirdly enjoyed Untouchable Lovers. The first 16 episodes were definitely better than the rest, but overall still an enjoyable drama for me. Flame’s daughter just got really boring and unmemorable for me.

I just went on the website. I can see the 1 star rating but do not understand Chinese. What is the gist of what…
I will
Admit Yáng mi is very hit or miss with me. I liked her in TMOPB and Les Interpretes but thought she was very bland in Negotiator. I think she’s been really good so far, but there’s stil 58 episodes left (pray for us all)

I'm waiting for this series to finish airing before jumping in, but I have high hopes for this one. Hopefully…
Same exact opinion. I’m hoping this isn’t another Princess agents. I LOVE Zhao Li Ying and has such high hopes for PA. The first few episodes were amazing and I was super hooked, but the drama got so ridiculous by the end. I couldn’t keep up with what was going on and it didn’t flow well. I rewatched it a while back and my opinion was a bit better since I knew what was going on more, but overall it wasn’t an amazing one for me (even though it was a commercial success and fairly well rated)

I'm going to give it a try but honestly I'm not much of a fan for either lead. I did like Ethan Ruan in Fated…
Same here. I’ve only ever seen him in FTLY but think he did a good job (I actually just rewatched FTLY because of him haha). I think he’s been really good so far, hopefully it continues

For me the thing that is impressive are these real EPIC upcoming Chinese dramas are being supported and produced…
Thanks for the extra info! I have seen a good few of productions that included Tencent, but didn’t know this much about them. I’ll definitely have to keep an eye out for their productions in the futire

Same! I love these types of dialogue where they don’t necessarily get along but they play off each other. (Reminds me of Descendants of the Sun, though they were much flirtier on both sides haha) hopefully it continues because it’s rare that you have this type of relationship in Chinese dramas. I can’t think of many (any at this exact moment) that also does this back and forth sparring type of convo.

:) Thank you for your article! I enjoyed reading it a lot.I've watched all the 8th episodes that have come out…
Definitely agree with you post. She’s not an amazing actress but I think she does a decent enough job. She really knows how to pick and choose though. For sure a great business woman.
