Is it? Admittedly I've only watched the first two episodes so far, but like someone else said it was so similar to Junji Ito and rather horrifying lol, thanks, I'll keep that in mind. For reference I was expecting something more similar to Mystic Pop-Up Bar or Midnight Diner, this is definitely much darker in tone but it's fun. I'll continue with it once it's done airing, thanks again

This was a balm after watching so many Chinese dramas, is it so hard to write it so everyone is alive and happy at the end? It doesn't have to be every time, but 80% of the time would be good T-T I liked the end, but would have liked everyone to tell the Emperor that his son never wanted the throne and wasn't going to take it after the second rebellion succeeded. And he was trying to stop the rebellion. Though he probably realized that at the end. Or maybe not since he's crazy. I just wanted to see his regret and horror, so that was unsatisfying. Also, I was already iffy about it because -consent- but ignored that because of the tone and the reason and lack of feelings, but after finding out about the 2ML's true colors I was very grossed out that Nokdu kissed that trash can, even though it was an "emergency" measure. They built him to be comedic side dude and then turned him into the main villain 😭

I got busy with the real world and fell behind with the last 10 or so episodes so I also avoided this comment section like the plague lol (until now, just finished😭) . Normally I wait until they're all out anyway, but for this one I was actually watching as it aired and was enjoying coming on here every day to read comments so it was especially hard to avoid it 😆

Oof, not a good sign if he was better in SoKP honestly, lol. I don't really watch for people but for the story/plot, but not so great acting can be distracting for me, especially in the mains. For him in particular, it's really weird and I don't know why this is, but aside from his acting abilities I just get weirdly uncomfortable when I watch him. It's so strange. I've been avoiding asking this because fans scare me, but I've finally worked up the courage. So, I didn't really like Zhang Ling He's acting in Story of Kunning Palace or in some of his other works. I wanted to know from people that have seen him in other stuff if he does a better job in this one? Since it comes before SoKP I'm wary, but a good director makes all the difference. I know this is rather subjective and a matter of opinions, just wanted some input on whether people think he did a good job or not. Hopefully I worded that okay
Man, I really need to come back and watch this. I remember I watched it when it came out because I had been waiting about a million years for it and made it to episode 18 subbed. Then they weren't updating, and then they dropped it all raw and I skipped to around the last 15 episodes just to see what was happening while I waited on subs, and then was hooked and ended up watching until the end raw and improving my Chinese while I was at it 😅 I was supposed to go back and watch the giant middle section I skipped, but I was so satisfied with the end and the feels I never did. Missed most of the angst and toxicity~ Anyway, I really do need to give this a proper watch one day lol

First, 16 and 17 made my soul hurt. Second, WHY? Why would you go through with this ritual KNOWING there was a blood moon that night, knowing taking the token out would make ZYZ vulnerable to it, knowing what happens to him, knowing a trap was being set? Just wait 24 hours for the moon to pass so he still has the token keeping him in control, better yet wait a week, and then do the ritual once the danger has passed. There was no sense of urgency, the Wilderness wasn't going to explode if they didn't do it right then and there. Just. Why.
