I'm absolutely in love with the soundtrack and would like to own it....also, this drama is scratching my drama itch. I haven't truly enjoyed anything since Mysterious Lotus Casebook, so I hope this one stays strong.
By reading all of the negative comments, I wonder if I watched the same series that other people did.🤔 I loved…
I'm in a funny position where I have many complaints but still really enjoyed watching it , therefore I can see why some people hated and some loved it since I'm somehow both xD Also, I think his eye didn't grow back because they were talking about how only half his body was monstrous, which is why he could only transform his right arm and his right eye was a different color. I would say the parasite affects his whole body enough to keep him alive, but not enough to regenerate a missing eye/limb on his left side. I figure if it was his right eye that got shot it would have grown back. That's just my takeaway, don't take it for fact~
so many loopholes i thought I was dumb to understand the story
Haha, I turned my brain off and just enjoyed it for Master Jang and partially the FL. I rated it higher than I probably should have since it's the first drama in a very long time to actually hold my interest. I'll still mourn all the details they'll never give us TT-TT
I really don't understand why they gave him amnesia for over half a season when they could've just shown us all…
Seriously, they have to realize viewers want to know these kinds of details...they could have still given him amnesia if they liked that storyline, but they didn't even show us what happened once he gets his memories back except that tiny snippet when he first gets infected (you suck crazy obsessive lady)
Wow, whoever was in charge of writing Tae Sang's character arc really wanted him to suffer, I really feel like he got the worst fate of them all imo. Things I really wanted to see that they didn't show: How/when did TS adapt to having the parasite inside him? What did Maeda do after infecting him, just let him be free range? Capture him back every once in awhile? Keep him at all times except when he escaped? His friends clearly knew he was still alive, I would have liked to see their efforts in trying to save him. There were 79 whole years missing where we have no real clue as to what happened to any characters. And Yoon Chae Ok, did she really just completely abandon the ML? She never once checked on him in all those years? Even if she was staying away to "protect" him, she should have still swung by every once in a while to see how he was doing if they wanted to convince me she actually loved him that much. 79 years! And things went so bad for him within that first year of them being separated. She could have gotten him away from Maeda and they could have had a semi-monstrous life together, but she seriously never looked after him? I feel if the situation was reversed he would have definitely checked back on her and noticed what happened and everything could have been stopped before they made it to the present day. Dang. And the little kid could have grown up with a loving family too. I really want to know what happened during that huge gap....
So does the mother never get better? Because I've only watched 3 episodes before needing a break because her behavior…
That really sucks. As a fellow childhood abuse survivor I really would have liked the mom to see the error of her ways and take this second chance to choose a better path. Make amends. That sort of thing. There were so many people raving about it which I just can't comprehend when the mother is like that. Ah well. Thanks for letting me know ❤
I gave the series an 8… but god damn!!! That woman is a horrible human being!! No matter the reasons, she always…
So does the mother never get better? Because I've only watched 3 episodes before needing a break because her behavior is just too upsetting for me and reminds me of my own traumas. Especially after that nonsense she pulled with the withholding food she just barely got him to have the will to eat because he wasn't eating it perfectly enough for her. I really need her to improve and treat him better or I don't think I'll be able to finish it.
Thank you for defending Hu Yi Tian. It's my first time watching him, and I really don't get the haters, don't…
I really enjoyed his micro expressions; they were light because he's not expressive, but I never struggled to tell how he was feeling. I also loved how he completely softened around those he cared about like his sister and the FL. I'm also a huge fan of quiet and calm characters when done well, and I think he did a good job. I've only ever seen him in one other thing and his personality was completely different in that one. No real complaints there either, but it's been awhile. From what I could tell, a lot of people have seen him in other stuff as well and he might be a bit typecast? Which makes it harder to be objective when viewing. I find most complaints around actors have more to do with the writing and directing than the actual actors themselves. Of course, if people think he can't act they have a right to feel that way, but based off this one show I'll have to peacefully disagree :)
Mm. Just here to say I had 0 problems with the ML's acting and really liked his character as well. Didn't personally find him to be a woodblock with only one expression at all which is what I braced for after reading other comments. Really liked the show overall. No real complaints except I hate the echo voice they do, but at least they used it less in comparison to Story of Kunning Palace, that one really grated on my nerves. I do wish the FL was less impulsive especially in regards to her personal safety, but at least that stayed true to character throughout and was expected based on her actions on the ship as a child.
it has been a while since I watched it the last time, but I think it was only one… u know what scene, but I’m…
Okay, thank you for responding! I'll probably still watch it at some point, but now I can mentally prepare myself. Do you happen to remember if it was fully consensual? No ambiguity?
You really understood BaiJue so better. He was the most hurt during the entire time. But apparently it looks like…
Haha, yeah, I always feel bad when the comment thread gets too long and I didn't mean for it to. I wish there was a way to fold up the whole thread like you see on other websites. I appreciate the spoiler tag though since it can be used to shorten things.

Thank you for sharing that with me, I enjoy the extra details :). I was wondering about Xuan Yi because he seemed kind of stitched into the drama and didn't really feel like he was meant to be there.

I went to her website the other day and she said she would pick it up again and plans to finish it and even posted a chapter in February, but said no release date because she's busy. I'm hopeful, so fingers crossed! I would also like to thank blizzardahm in advance.

Oh, does it explain better then? I did look into it earlier and it's not completely translated (I can't tolerate machine translation), but I saw the translator recently picked it back up so I was going to wait for now. It's definitely on my list though!
Edit: He's absolutely unhinged (more so than the teachers usually are in these shows) I love it
How did I not realize how many of my favorite actors/actresses are in this? O.O Yay~
