Every time I see her she is playing a maid or some silly role but she has the face and presence for playing a main lead or secondary female lead at the very least. Beautiful!
The good: the mom and sister's support of one another, it was heart touching to see the mother and sister's struggle together and thrive together. Third daughter and her ML were what draws you into the drama, their battle of wits was lovely to watch. Then the fourth daughter is adorable and while her ML is a lot more fun when he has the dreaded amnesia, it's tolerable. Fifth daughter was such a bold and funny character and her story started off toxic but became really the most touching in some ways. I did not love the "found brother" trope but was happy for the sixth daughter. Madame Li actress is phenomenal in this and other roles.
The bad: The first daughter's story almost made me drop the drama and I had to force myself to continue because her ML is the worst of the entire show and really awful, at one point I was rooting for her to be with ANYONE other than him including the other poor scholar. The drama casting such a beautiful youthful girl and then trying to say she was "an undesirable old widow" was also really jarring. The second daughter's ML was a playboy, trying to get concubines and just a gambling and whoring kind of guy who suddenly is transformed into a comic person (oh the money he wasted on women was just him being kind like wtf). So the drama can't really deal with any really problematic men and should have by having a daughter divorce a bad or subpar man and replace him or find a better vocation. And if marriage was so important than Madame Li should have found an nice widower because she is a lovely woman herself and looks youthful enought to be the eldest widowed daughter instead of mom.
The drama lacked what I would call a likable male lead in the sense that it presents a historical and modern day view of "the basic decency men should have but lack." None of the MLs are remarkable as husbands, what they do is either downright toxic at times (the scholar and the judge kicking out the girls, the playboy, and even the Yang boy who doesn't send any letters or any info and did in fact kidnap her) and yet they are treated as somehow awesome because the bar is in hell. In that sense I feel like this drama was more of a "if you really must get married so your mom can feel like you are complete and be judged by others as a good mom then this is the bare minimum to settle for." I feel like having one unmarried sister who focuses on her own pursuits and passions instead of her husband's would have been great (Haode is so brilliant and yet she has to be the assistant to her husband and not a lawyer in her own right, Kangning just gives up on business to be a cutey, Shouha really did deserve a better storyline and to be master of her own fate). Like the basic message was "one man, one wife and he should treat your nicely." Ugh.
Zhao Ling, who plays the maid here and in other dramas, is too gorgeous to be not be a FL or SFL. I hope she gets better roles, even the camera loved her.
Overall I liked the drama if I didn't think about it and focused on the women's relationships and supports which is great from the usual catfights but the marriage plots were just average at best, carried by the stunningly beautiful women.
Halfway through and absolutely love this drama, it is fresh with some really charming moments between the leads (and some tropey ones for those who love them). I LOVE the game aspect the way it is intertwined into the story. Honestly, they should have just made him the CEO of the game company instead of all the architecture stuff (kdrama writers love architects) and streamline it just a bit. I am worried for the FL's best friend because I keep expecting something bad to happen her relationship. She is so cute so here's hoping that she gets to be happy too.
After dropping a lot of dramas this year, this is the first one I want to finish.
I love the two main leads, visually they were gorgeous. Takeuchi Ryoma is so sensual here, I could just watch him be a slightly self destructive lover of beauty and excess and passion. He stole every scene and moment he was in. Keita Machida was cold, beautiful and tragic. The story or plot seemed half baked, full of cliches, and too slow at times which is why 6.5 rating. I also do hate that women in BL are just like tangential satellites to the men's story. Both women were interesting and deserved fully realized roles.
This isn't a love story between two people but rather a story of two people who help each other see life a bit differently. I liked it because music and art are passions and loves.
I honestly feel like she is the most underrated actress with some subpar plots for dramas or boring MLs. She is absolutely gorgeous, funny and has physical humor sense but she doesn't seem to get a range of roles. Like her in thriller, action, dark romance, revenge or even just killer comedy would be great. Her and chae soo bin I watched in one drama and thought they would have amazing stellar careers full of awesome projects and its been dry.
When does ML figure out she has nothing to do with car accident? I feel like its been too many episodes of him testing her memory or whatever and not asking her directly?
Lee Il Rae and Sang Gyung had an unrealistic but beautiful story. The other two woman should have left their husbands because what in the hell? Cho Na Jeong's husband is a real piece of shit, doesn't help with the kids or try to understand her or romance her (ugh the apron scene made me hate him), and hides the colleague situation for what reason? He treats her so poorly and the end rushes to try to redeem their marriage. Then Koo Ju Yeong's story is also the most bizarre ever. Like what is the message here, better to be in a fake marriage with a guy who has serious issues (suddenly downplayed for some bizarre reason) than alone and happy? I feel this drama should have been about three friends who love and trust one another through ups and downs and get rid of bad relationships. Why did it have to uphold shitty marriages? Really backwards kind of crap especially in this day and age. The only redeeming this was the mother stop being a doormat and free babysitter and living her own life a bit. That and Jin Seo Yun is so attractive she must be a bi awakening for so many. All the woman also look gorgeous for 40ish.
Kim Min Jung as Jung Seon A is phenomenally charismatic here, she just steals scenes. Two main leads, her and the minister of justice lady were quite impressive.
Also this user @Mephisto is an incel who posts everywhere attacking FLs for having two love interests and other…
I have unfortunatley seen you posting on the dramas and pages of actors and it is always always always hater comments. Don't know what is wrong with you but try therapy or ketamine or something productive.
