“But if we really think about it, what is a normal family like?”

Oh my gosh. What can I say other than my heart is so full after watching this ultra comforting drama about unconventional found family. Like seriously, watching this feels like being tucked into bed.

The plot makes Saionji-san seem like the usual Japanese romantic comedy drama, but this show is beyond that. It’s more of a life drama than a romantic one. It’s well-written, visually cozy, and has a very likable main character.

“You’re weird. Unusual. Not common.”
“Isn’t that pretty much an insult?”
“No, I’m complimenting you. I am saved by that side of you. “

Awkward characters can irk viewers when depicted monotonously, but here Matsumoto Wakana - who’s absolutely beautiful in this btw - effortlessly captures Saionji’s quirkiness and naivenes. She’s so natural as Saionji and her cheerful aura definitely makes this drama more uplifting than it already is.

I’ll definitely revisit this sweet sweet series whenever I’m feeling down-down <3

Here’s to the realest fake family!
