What? Lol. I actually did watch past Episode 17. I just lost interest, probably lost it even earlier when they got together. Just because a "new arc" starts in episode 19-20, it doesn’t mean that everyone has to stay interested up to that point. So, your assumption doesn’t really make sense. You just can't accept that not everyone is here to praise your favs.
This drama started going downhill around episode 17, and now it’s so boring it’s just background noise! The story is lame and drags 🙄 If it weren’t for the leads, I would’ve dropped it by now. No. They are different Yan. One is 燕 (yàn) and one is 妍 (yán). Different tones. FL father name is Yu lang 玉郎 (Sir Yu). 玉 (yu) means jade. So Duanwu most likely is a Yu. Yu lang mentioned a 家主 (head of household/clan). So I'm assuming the Yu family worked for the Yan family.

I don't get why people complain about the FL getting bullied. Like, what else do you expect from the storyline if there's no drama? The whole point is to make her look vulnerable so she can rise above it. Either the bullies get their karma or end up apologizing, and the FL comes out stronger, classic Mary Sue trope! Seriously, this bully trope is in almost every idol drama. It's just part of the formula! Get over it!
