I had said before that I think that Ohsang and Miran would make a good couple but I'm not a fan of this pregnancy storyline 🤡 I guess I should have seen it coming with the one night stand, but I guess I thought Miran was too old to get pregnant 💀 (edited: welp I was right about that)

Ohsang remains awesome lol I absolutely love how he goes from scheming to comedic.

I'll always hate dementia storylines in dramas because that's how my grandmother died, but I guess it's a good thing that Yookyung (doctor) lives with Jayoung. Speaking of Yookyung, I've liked her a lot more since she cut the dead weight. The scenes of her rejecting Giman from the past few episodes gave me life! Not to mention Seungwoo running up on him, or the cops dragging Giman away? *Chefs kiss* I hope under absolutely no circumstances does Yookyung take him back.

Doyun is probably my favorite male lead in a long time. I may have said that already, but I'm saying it again. Like ... I burst out laughing when he and his colleague played Seri. (Side note I loved her dress in that scene lol) As for Jaein... she's "dead" and Doyun is using his medical skills and connections to keep her alive. I wonder if this is setting up for a storyline where Jaein wakes up, acquires a fake identity and comes back absolutely ruthless? I know Eunjung can bring the intensity to such a role, if the writer takes it there and pulls it off, this may end up overtaking Cinderella Game as my favorite KBS daily of the 2020s....

Jaein's mentally reached the point of no return... tomorrow's episode will be fun 🤪

More thoughts : comedic relief. Every makjang is gonna have it. So how does this drama stack up?

I love Jiseob, Jakyung, and their parents. I like how they're meant to be funny, but they're all scheming on Jiseob inheriting Mingang. In a way, it furthers the plot.
The comedic relief scenes don't "take me out of the drama" like they do in other families, and for that, I appreciate it 😭

Lee Kanhee is a comedic queen lmao. I love her whether she's playing a good character or a bad one. This subplot of Jakyung's dad having a crush on Stella is ... interesting.

The way this drama handles the comedic relief scenes reminds me of Game of Witches... this drama isn't as "high budget" as that one was, but for me, the quality is there. I'm still working my way through mbc dailies, but if game of witches is my favorite, then the woman who swallowed the sun is a solid contender for my second favorite!

I gotta shout Jang Shinyoung out here - when this drama was announced I was excited because I consider myself a fan of the 3 other leads. I hadn't seen anything with her in it until then, so I kept an open mind.

And I love watching her - whether she's acting as Miso's mother, Jang Lucia plotting Mingang's end, or when she's grieving or having a panic attack... I am giving her all her flowers here, she was the perfect choice for a female lead!!

Consider me a fan now lol

And of course, the episode ends with Seri finding the PERFECT leverage to protect her place at YL

I screamed at Gichan crashing out at the end of the preview lmaooo seems like he and Seri are onto DH....

The infighting will be glorious to watch

Seungwoo threatening Giman made my night. As giman's number 1 hater, this was hands down my favorite part of episode 55

Sujeongs mother was the Gangnam bar hostess which is why Kyungchae looks at her as a rival

I missed that detail about the years. Its still possible that the housekeeper and chairman min could've been involved before she worked there. All these chaebol families are full of secrets lol

I would say it starts with Geumja's arrival So around episode 31 :)

At the minimum she's definitely a (ex) lover... she cares A LOT for Chairman's health and well being.... I think she's also Kyungchaes mom (and possibly Seri's grandmother 😭 I really think Seri's mom is Kyungchae)

Though... it also wouldn't surprise me if all the siblings were eventually revealed to all have different mothers lol

Oh! Well id say the revenge is just now picking up! The leads started their scheming and the Hwangs + Miran are sweating lmao

Romance between the two leads? If that's what you're waiting for it hasn't happened yet. It's on the backburner for the revenge

Chairman min scolding Lucia made me laugh because that's what my jobs training is... Word for word. ("Imagine the person you're talking to just got a cancer diagnosis") Speaking of him, Jeon Nomin* is my favorite of the actors that gets type casted into the chaebol CEO role (as well as the guy who played the CEO in vengeance of the bride lol)

I also like how they wrote the crappy economy into the storyline lol

*The last drama I saw him in, the third marriage, the FL started her revenge by marrying him so she could become the matriarch of the family. It seems like the same plot device is going to be used here .... I should've seen this coming when the drama established infidelity as Dushik's defining character trait... At least Lucia is is older than Dajung! Its also more fun watching Lucia because she's actually playing cat and mouse with him 😭

The way the housekeeper (I forgot her name) immediately tried to get seri to sell her shares to benefit Kyungchae.... She's definitely not your average housekeeper. I'm keeping an eye on her....

I like how Jaein immediately went to Gichan once she was clued into the note that revealed her as Jayoung's daughrer. Hell hath no fury like a makjang heroine scorned (if she has more than two braincells, which Jaein has proven she has)

I'm surprised Seri is losing control this quickly. She talked all that crap but couldn't back it up, plagiarized her entry, and is paying the price 🤡 see when you do clownery ... The clown comes back to bite

KBS dailies have been killing it with the post-revenge glow ups. I thought Goo Hana was fun? Jaein snatched my wig lmao. Her comebacks to Seri and Gichan give me life like "what is someone who plagiarized going to teach (referring to Seri's replacement)"

Holding the daughter responsible for the mother's crime is a cultural difference I guess I can't wrap my head behind... Blaming the mother for the daughter's crime makes more sense, but this IS a Korean drama at the end of the day. We all know Jaein is gonna prevail at the end tho :)

Now let's talk about Seo Joonyoung .. I think I'm becoming a fan lol. I'm currently watching Brave Yong Sujeong too and I'm still early on in it. He's there too and I feel as though he's okay but I'm really loving him as Doyun like how I'm loving Park Yoonjae as Gichan lol

Yukyung giving up her education as a doctor to be a salesperson is absolutely wild . Speaking of her, I don't really "feel" her and Seungwoo as a couple. It seems like they're going in that direction for now at least... they aren't the worst couple I've seen in a kdrama but they could be better matched. My opinion on them as a couple aside, one thing is for sure: Seungwoo > Giman.

Someone please cast Miran and Ohsang actress and actor in a revenge drama as a FL and ML... this has potential for greatness 😭 even tho I dislike Miran I enjoy watching her interact with Ohsang. As for Ohsang? He has been awesome from the get go. As for the bed scene? ... 🥴

Tomorrow's preview seems pretty dry for a Friday episode, but I'm willing to bet there will be some crazy twist at the end that will have us shook over the weekend 😭

So i am 1000% on the side of Jayoung when it comes to this whole Seungwoo Miran fiasco. Why is Miran holding Jayoung responsible when Miran could've chosen herself over the company, and rejected the chaebol life to raise her son? It really does feel like she's using him to get ownership of YL

Once again, I'm glad Seungwoo has Jaein in his corner

And... Miran furthers the plot by telling Doyun's mom that Jaein is Jayoung's daughter. Its going to be so hilarious when it's revealed who really killed Dohee

Its a very strong start to the second half of the drama haha!

"the enemy of my enemy is my friend" Jaein played Giman like a flute and I'm all for it.

Jaein sending the videos to Yookyung and telling her to leak them to the public if she doesn't respond in 15 mins is probably the smartest move I've seen by a daily drama FL.

this episode was a fun one lmaooo y'all don't know how hard I laughed when Jaein confronted Sookja, Giman and Gichan. The fact that she threatened him into signing off on divorce??? I never would've expected this from the Jaein from episode 1. This entire scheme is by far, my favorite part of the drama

The fact that jaein donated the extorted money over Eunho's name to a hit and run victims association 😭💔 it says a lot about her character that she could've kept it for herself. (Especially since she needs the money)

Y'know, Seungwoo, Ohsang and Miran actually make an attractive family lol.

JAEIN SERVING SERI THE RESIGNATION LETTER?!?! I haven't mentioned it yet but I absolutely love the ending theme for this drama 😭 my favorite one by far
