Jakyung grew on me but I've loved her parents since the beginning. I've seen the actor and actress in other works but here they are the perfect comedic relief (while still plotting on Mingang lmaoooo)

Game of witches was on another level when it came to plots and schemes. I hope this drama is similar lol

Honestly? I actually like Seri. yes, she should be punished for what she did to Miso. But at the same time, if Seri was shown love and care, she would've learned proper emotional regulation and not assault miso. I'm going to be weirdly sympathetic towards her because I work with mentally ill adolescents (that act out just as seri does). But at the same time, while I'm happy to see she's a bit more grounded after the time skip, ultimately, she needs to suffer the consequences....

Soojung has actually grown on me a lot lol. Not only is her fashion sense A1 but I love how calculated she is

Don't even get me started on Oh Changseok. I could go all day at how well he is at portraying characters corrupted by greed 😭

With Giman he was actually doing well for himself when they first got married. he was described as having a white collar job and having some success - but the alcohol abuse deteriorated his mental health and changed things for the worse. So he wasn't like that when she married him. I don't actually like Yookyung but Giman becoming a drunk was probably something that she didn't forsee when they got married...

He's a realistic portrayal of alcoholics (ask me how I know) and how they negatively affect the people around him. that's a major reason why I don't like him tbh

Hopefully Yookyung ends up studying abroad or something bc idk what she's going to do for the rest of the drama ... give advice to Seungwoo? They feel more like siblings/family friends to me than lovers, but I'm not the one writing this drama lol

Considering how makjang villains usually end up in the end (dead and/or in jail for life), I really wonder what's going to happen to Jiho....

So admittedly (and I said this in my last update for AWWSTS ）I thought MBC won this round with the dailies bc I lost interest in this drama.... but when I picked it back up around ep 25, that's when things pick up. Like now the tables have turned and I neglected AWWSTS lmaooo. tbh I got annoyed at how often Miso would cry so I took a break and now I'm on the part where Stella (icon btw) is trying to convince Seolhee to go to the US

Also find it amusing that there's a Seri in both dramas, and they're both agents of chaos lol

I also don't want Seri and Jaein to be related - although I find it interesting that their surnames are both Kang, and I think it was said that Seri's mom was a housekeeper for Jaein's family? Meaning that she knew Jaein and probably gave her daughter that name with an ulterior motive.

I actually like Seri as a villain now because she's just so unapologetically evil and scheming (it's giving pretty much any villainess played by Han Chaeyoung lol) I cannot see Seri redeeming herself nor do I think Seri wants to be redeemed. So I hope her ending is not a good one. Still I'm wondering what the secret is. If they aren't sisters could they have been switched at birth? My third theory is that the YL family killed Seri's father or otherwise harmed her family and she's doing all of this as a revenge plot. That would be the best option I think... in terms of narrative. But no matter what route the writer takes, I still want Seri to go out like Hara from Miss Montecristo. No sisterly bonding here!

We're halfway through the drama now and I would say it's picking up at a good pace. Definitely pick it back up - the story completely shifts after Doyun and Jaein start working together, but in a good way!

First of all - seeing Jaein with short hair takes me back to my T-ARA fan days like I was so geeked to see Eunjung with the bob again 🤪 Geumja was fun while she was at YL but Jaein is reborn and she's not playing this time around lol

Doyun, Jaein and Ohsang are my dream team. I'm loving the fact that they're all on the same page. I am also glad that they stopped punishing Jaein for the crime that "Jayoung" committed. I'm loving how the writer is showing Ohsang and Doyun investigating Dohee's death and realizing that Gichan and Seri were involved. It's going to beautiful when the dream team realize that Seri and Gichan were the ones who killed Dohee.

I'm glad the Giman and Yukyung subplot seems to be ending in divorce although I still don't really like her as a character. I guess she's supposed to be good now? What will the writer do with her character? My guess: after divorcing Giman (that's even if they divorce), she'll become Jaein's romantic rival. Idk why but I can't buy her change of heart. Still, I cannot reiterate how happy it makes me that Yookyung wants to divorce.

Either way I think it's lame she showed her ass because her dad worked for Jaein's family. Meanwhile, Mr. Do himself is a standup guy. i loved how he refused to play into Sookja and Giman's mind games when they tried to manipulate him into manipulating yookyung for getting a divorce. "They are adults and they should work it out themselves" class act

I feel like something is missing between the Seri and Jaein backstory that hasn't been revealed yet. Like: they showed the scene of Jayoung confronting Kang Jaein B and her mother but conveniently left out the fact that Kang Jaein B was using Kang Jaein A's likeness and identity to do malicious things like scam classmates... in my last update I thought Jayoung was doing too much but now I see where she's coming from. So either Seri was born evil or there's something missing. And I say that because iirc when this drama was first being teased, it was said that Seri was told a secret by her birth mother which was apparently what triggered her hatred. I had guessed that they were actually half sisters (if so, Seri's mom is actually wild for naming her daughter after the daughter between her affair partner and his wife) but that hasn't been revealed yet...

What else? Honestly, I actually like the chicken restaurant subplot when I usually don't care for the "fast food restaurant" scenes in dailies. I like seeing Doyun's mother, "Misook" and Mr. Do interact. The whole president of the building subplot was cute. I actually like Jayoung so I'm lowkey annoyed by the fact that she seems to be developing dementia when shit is actually getting real. Right when she finds out that Seungwoo isn't actually a love child but Miran's child. Hopefully she gets her name cleared before it gets too bad.

Miran - Miran went from one of my favorite characters to now... Mother of the Year award? I found it amusing how Seungwoo said he didn't want to meet miran because she didn't claim him. But will that make Miran fall back and change her behavior? Probably not. I'm really curious to see how their relationship ends up. Also I wouldn't be surprised if Ohsang was Seungwoo's father. Miran and Ohsang have an interesting chemistry. (In an alternate universe, without the chaebol makjang antics, they'd be a power couple lol)

I appreciate Jaein for continuing to acknowledge Seungwoo as her brother. I mentioned this in the Cinderella Game comment section but I hate hate hate when a birth secret is revealed and characters act like they don't know the character?? Like I've seen other dramas where the people in Jaein's position immediately drop the "Seungwoo" upon finding out that they aren't blood related. But at least Seungwoo has Jaein in his corner, because Miran is 💀

Honestly? If you like the story of this one, I recommend Gold Mask - this kind of reminds me of that one - both Sooyeon (FL of GM) and Jaein are taking an active role in their revenge, and that's always a win in my book. Halfway through, let's hope the second half is lit

So when I left that comment I was on ep 36, now I am on episode 44. Basically Ohsang Doyun and Jaein are all working at YL. Seri is being blackmailed by someone she thinks she Jaein, Yukyung quit her job to try to have a man with Giman, Jaein got accused of leaking trade secrets to competition.

I'm currently catching up as well and you won't be disappointed!

"I'm Kang Jaein A, you're Kang Jaein B"

was one of my favorite moments as well, it's crazy how all this seemingly stems from Seri being forced to change her name (which was extra to begin with, Jayoung shouldn't have done that) ... and it escalates to her trying to steal Jaein's life. Like, girl 🤣

That's something I noticed too! At the beginning, GC was treated as the "dog" of the family but now that things have shifted, SR is now in that role. To add to the karma, she is getting comparisons to Jaein, who knew how to carry herself as a representative of YL. 🤣

Considering how she tried to suicide bait GC into presenting her as his wife, it's safe to say this was not the life she envisioned - it's the perfect karma!

My guess is - since she doesn't have a mother (I don't think they mentioned her so I'm assuming she passed away) she really wants female approval from a mother figure which would mean Sookja.

Yookyung frustrates me because she's proof that being book smart =/= being people smart. Like you're a doctor! You're way too smart for this lol
