Not me purposely not watching the last three episodes so I could start my weekend by binge watching this week's episodes
I find it interesting that Seri's name is also Kang Jaein. The "you will never be me" angle just got a bit more interesting.
I can already tell I am not going to like Jaein's brother. Gichang is an awful person, but he wasn't wrong when he was telling Seungwoo to chill out. On that same note, I don't really like Giman either (his mom is still my least favorite character here lol). Yugyeong deserves better 🤷🏾♀️* At least I find the main 4 characters somewhat interesting.
(*Edited to add that now that I see that giman was willing to work with criminals to kidnap his nephew for ransom money to pay off his debt, I can say that without shame lol. Let's see how Mommy Dearest fixes this. It's rich that she blames Yugyeong for her sons failures - can't wait to see her lose everything at the end 🤣
I have a poor memory so I must've forgotten 😭 Secret House is pretty good - it's a daily with a male lead and it feels pretty dark, as far as daily dramas go. I can't tell you much because I'm not even at ep 40 yet, but I can tell you that i'm into it more way more I am into BYS, like I have to talk myself up before watching that one 😅

Re: Do-yun/the actor that plays him was in the promise?! I can't believe I didn't recognize him! But I guess it makes sense, Uijoo (at least where I am in BYS) is more lighthearted than anything..... the cheating husband in the promise was a cold blooded schemer lol. His role in Queens House seems to be a happy medium - I think I can get behind this. As for Gichang, I'm hoping that Seri's evil antics draw a bit more charisma out of him 🤣 because rn his face is hard carrying his performance... not that I mind (for now) but I hope it'll be enough to keep me interested though the end lol
I also think that Jaein is going to disappear - and then come back with a revenge glow up lol. His sister could die instead of Boram (or they both could - depends on how far the screenwriter wants to go)
I am taking it slooooowly lol. Especially since Ji Suwon also played the antagonist in a recent drama I watched (Cinderella Game), and the evil MIL is played by the same actress who played the evil MIL in secret house, which I'm also watching 😭. Ha-min and the grandmother are keeping me invested in the story lol
This daily JUMPED into the drama with no warning! An affair, a child kidnapping, and classism in episode 1 alone.…
I don't have an opinion on Seri either.... yet! But i saw an article in the Soompi thread where the actress said the audience is going to end up hating her because of the apparent levels of schemes and manipulation that Seri is going to pull off. There's some potential there...
If Jaein ends up going to jail and getting framed for Doyoon's sisters death, I hope she goes full Yeonhwa when she gets out lmaoooo
Two episodes in and Gichang's mother has already become my least favorite character in the drama, I already know exactly what kind of mother in law she's going to be... they love making the mother of the husband in affair dramas be as tacky and obnoxious as possible, especially if the husband comes from a lower socioeconomic status compared to his chaebol wife. Jaein's family being classist towards Gichang.... not surprised to see that. I would not be surprised if Gichang (+ Seri) end up with control of YL group. I just wonder how... this contract storyline may be planting the seeds. There's a lot of people Gichang needs to neutralize in order to get away with seizing control of the company....
So it seems like in this drama, the male and female leads meet not through spilling coffee, hitting someone's car, (or my personal least favorite) sexual harassment as comedy (see: how Dajung and Yohan met in The Third Marriage) but Doyun & Jaein meet because Doyun jumped into action to save Eunho - I like that lol. This gives me hope that when the clock strikes revenge o'clock, Doyun is going to be an active participant. It's going to be so fun when Doyun and Jaein actually start bonding with each other... plotting... scheming... revenging, let me not get ahead of myself lol
Sidenote: It always kills me how in dailies whenever the leads are offered money as an reward, they turn it down, I know it's supposed to show their ~good character~ or something of that sort but I have no shame in admitting that if it were me I would take that reward and pay off all my debt 😭
We also meet Doyun's family this ep, and of the three families revealed so far, his is my favorite by far. Boram better not be the "precious person" who Doyun loses, but I'm expecting it to be either her or his sister. The scene with Boram and her grandmother was so cute. As for the other child character, I am glad the Eunho getting kidnapped subplot wrapped up fairly quickly - just like last episode, the affair was kind of put on the back burner for everything else. We'll get to see Seri interact with Jaein and Yukyung tomorrow. I am looking forward to it so we can better understand the Jaein-Seri dynamic.... I like Yukyung as well, so I'm curious to see how she fits into this group dynamic.
Speaking of Doyun, I can't believe I didn't put it together until now but he's Uijoo from Brave Yong Sujeong, which I'm currently also watching lol. I gotta say I'm happy to see him here as I "met" him through BYS, but I like his character here better (so far)! Looking forward to tomorrow!
Assuming you're talking about Nara's character, they're not the same actress but the dailies do tend to typecast for that role lol - I could see the actress who played Jieun also play the character of Nara.
Okay so as a huge T-ARA fan (Jungle Fish 2 was pretty much my gateway into Asian Dramas, s/o to Jiyeon) i was totally geeked (excited) to see that Eunjung finally landed a lead role in a makjang revenge drama... I tried watching her other dailies and while she did good, those non revenge dailies don't really interest me 😭 But anyway, episode 1 of the Queens House comes out the gate swinging. Eunho gets kidnapped. (In the first episode? ✋🏾😭) While we see bits and pieces of Seri and Gichang's affair, it's not made clear that Seri and Jaein are friends. In fact, Eunho's disappearance is the main point of the first episode.
Jaein seems to be physically weaker than your average FL. Like she seemed to be very close to hyperventilating during the scenes where Eunchong went missing. Like she couldn't breathe. Doyun is a thoracic surgeon, [thoracic is the region of the body where your lungs are], I guess whatever ailment she has will be what connects her to him. (This might have a tinge of medical drama, which is ironic because in Eunjung's last drama, she played a doctor lol) Doyun didn't really show up in this episode, but I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Judging by the preview, he'll join the story there.
I actually gasped when the family got the bloody action figure at the end of the ep. Part of me wants to guess that Seri orchestrated the whole thing but then again, there's no indication she's capable of pulling off such a thing.... yet. How evil will she be in terms of 2FLs? Only time will tell...
Yesterday I read the translated articles in this dramas thread on Soompi. This drama was described as "intense" and "fast paced"... So we will see about that. I pretty much have been exclusively watching makjang dailies for the last 5 years, HOWEVER, I can't think of another one that opened with the FL's child getting kidnapped.
Casting is good so far. I'm happy to see Giyoon's father (from Elegant Empire) playing Eunjung's father here. I like him lol. And of course. Eunjung. I could go on and on about her, but I won't do that. I find the guy playing Gichan attractive lol, even tho this character is doing some questionable things 👀

I liked it so far! It reminds me a bit of the second husband - the 2FL's endgame is her family's company even tho she herself is not considered a "legit" heir 😭 toxic chaebol families are my makjang cryptonite so I'm pretty much enjoying it 💀 can't wait to continue it!
Now that I got a place to watch I'll probably restart it from episode 1

omg I want to watch that one too! ... especially after learning that the actress that plays mikang in meant to be played the FL... but just like you I can't find it anywhere.
I don't think I've finished a daily with that kind of subplot so I'm even more excited for Monday!!
Pure speculation on my part since the drama hasn't even started yet - I notice that both the FL and 2FL have the same family name (Kang), I know it's possible, and common for people in SK to have the same last name but share no family relation. But this is a makjang drama so I wonder if there's some kind of hidden family relationship between Seri and Jaein. I am so curious about that flashback in the teasers where teen Seri pulls off teen Jaein's name tag (or is it the other way around? It happened so fast in the teaser)
My guess is that Seri is likely not just going to be Jaein's "friend", she could also be Jaein's illegitimate half sister who is salty she can't inherit everything that is Jaein's (as well as the standard 2FL inferiority complex), hence Jaein's MO being "you can't live my life bc you'll never be me" But we'll definitely find out over the next few weeks!
Usually the people who will watch this to the end are people who like the daily makjang subgenre - 100/120 episodes is the standard depending on the network. So we're all used to it lol
Ji Soo Won plays a good character in Vengeance of the Bride, it's a good show..
I want to watch GR but it's blocked in the US because of Kocowa I'm assuming.... like if you're going to block us from watching it at least put it on streaming or something 😭
