Episode 31: I like how this drama subverts the whole revenge glow up trope with Geumja 🤣 whatever plot Jaein and Doyun is cooking up will be interesting
Oh and because I must drag Yukyung in every comment I leave (she's just so draggable) - her attitude towards her father's part time job is abhorrent. Like it's a good thing that he's at least being constructive with his time and most of all, he enjoys it! (As a doctor Yukyung should know that having an active lifestyle is healthier.... lmao) Not to mention, working at a chicken place is a way better way to spend your time than forcing yourself into a family that doesn't like or respect you... lol!
now that I think about it, I don't even think Giman and Yukyung have been affectionate towards each other ONCE.... (correct me if I'm wrong!)
Not Eunho getting hit by the truck after Jaein explicitly told him to stay on the sidewalk....... 😐 when she…
that's one way to do a Friday cliffhanger! It happened so fast I can only imagine the speculation (I thought it was a dream sequence myself until the next episode started)
This drama needs to be tagged with comedy. Gichang is seriously going to forgive Seri for hiring a hitman (who ended up killing his son!) because Jiho cried?
"I didn't want Eunho dead, i wanted Jaein dead!" Like that makes it any better? LMFAO this feels ridiculous even by makjang standards
"I had no idea you were this stupid" I'm yelling omggg Jayoung is harsh but SOMEONE needs to tell Jaein the truth so she can stop crying and start scheming
Great job working on catching up and you’ve got great takes on the happenings so far but as of ep45 there’s…
Thank you!!! Tomorrow I have a lot of free time so I should be able to really binge watch this... but ... Thanks for the heads up 😬 her Stockholm syndrome is by far the hardest thing for me to watch, even moreso knowing there's no reason behind it lol
Catching up (on episode 24) and I can't believe Miran turned out this way??? I actually liked her character but…
Not Eunho getting hit by the truck after Jaein explicitly told him to stay on the sidewalk....... 😐 when she said that I actually felt relief like, there's no way he would get hit by the car, right?
much to the surprise of nobody, circus clown seri decided to play murder-for-hire and is surprised when the murderer for hire actually murders 🤡 .... its amusing watching her sweat. But also disgusting watching her trying to manipulate Jiho from telling the truth...
It sucks Eunho died btw. He wasn't bad as far as daily drama children go, but I guess the story needed this... Once Jaein gets over her grief and shock, she will go postal, plus her grieving will humanize her in the eyes of Doyun....
Catching up (on episode 24) and I can't believe Miran turned out this way??? I actually liked her character but what she's doing is grimy af especially since she couldn't even do the bare minimum of raising Seungwoo - who's she's willing to betray Jaein over... when Seungwoo has no idea that's his mother. All of this drama between Miran and Jayoung over Seungwoo could've been avoided if Papa Kang decided to be honest from the jump. But hey, if he did that, this wouldn't be a makjang now would it 🤪
Also had to laugh at the gangster trying to solicit Gichang's services after he got appointed as chairman. I love when a character in a makjang drama is genre savvy
Real talk... whenever Jayoung gets out of prison, she's going to go absolutely nuclear on Gichang and Friends and I can't wait. For those who watched Miss Montecristo I hope she ends up as badass as Hwang Jina minus the dementia... But Jaein might be able to hold her own, even without her mother's help...
Not surprised at all by Yukyung betraying Jaein btw ... I hope she loses her medical license for that crap she pulled with the sleeping pills. Now for a hot take. I actually dislike Yukyung the most of the characters (outside of Giman) like... your life is shit because everyone treats you like shit so instead of trying to find a way out you choose to betray the one (1) person besides your father who is on your side? I am busy with school rn so I may have missed the reason why Yukyung is putting up with being the punching bag of the Hwang household, but damn I wish she would take ownership of her life and leave. At least Seri owns her evilness.... Yukyung is still trying to play both sides and be cordial towards Jaein while stabbing her in the back. Idk. I'm just ready for that entire family to go down. The script writer did a VERY good job at making the people on Gichang's side detestable. Like Nara is the only one I'm neutral towards ... meanwhile, I can't wait for Sookja to lose everything lol
"Congratulations on having an attempted murderer as your daughter in law" 🥂
Catching up yet again.... Sunjae being Miso's dad????? I have to say - I'm familiar with 3/4 of the main leads…
I'm realizing why I'm responding so strongly to this drama . Besides the actors, the screenwriter also wrote Hide & Seek, which I loved. I highly recommend it if you like the whole makjang fake / long lost daughters trope!
I have to say - I'm familiar with 3/4 of the main leads - I've seen and am fans of every actor and actress except for Jang Shinyoung. And this is a fine introduction to her. If Goo Hana has been my favorite KBS makjang heroine in a while, Baek Seolhee is my favorite MBC makjang heroine.
Now... If there's one thing Oh Changseok can do, it's absolutely body the role of the overly ambitious lawyer from humble beginnings, who gets overwhelmed by the sin of greed. I'm currently watching game of witches and if his character follows the same trajectory 👀
Seo Hajoon is charming as always. I always find myself smiling at his scenes. The mystery behind Moon TaeGyeong's parent's death is very interesting. I know that mingang has ties to it, but I'm just wondering HOW?
Yoon Ahjeong - first was introduced to her in Ice Adonis/Yellow Boots about 12 years ago! She was playing the villain there too, but Kyungchae is a different type of villain than Yura was... And with that you can really see the growth and maturity of the actress. Her performance is the definition of "aged like fine wine".
As for the min family drama ... Soojung is actually growing on me because she's more than willing to stir the pot and stab her half sister in the back. She's a loose cannon and I'm here for kt. It makes me wonder... Will she eventually end up working with Seolhee in the future?
Definitely liking this better than Desperate Ms Seonju and Queen's House (although I think that the latter is way better than the former). I have limited time to watch dramas these days and I find myself prioritizing this one lol
I really enjoy the fact that the FL and ML's meeting subverted the car accident trope. Ie when the ML is super obnoxious about demanding compensation. So far, I like their relationship.
Min family drama is A1. I think manager kong is Seri's mother. I got clued in during the dinner scene, when she gave Chairman Min the salad. "I need to work here for a long time" - if she isn't Seri's mother at the very minimum, she at least has a relationship with him. That actually wouldn't be surprising, since it's been established that he sleeps around...
Speaking of Seri, you can see how every adult around her has failed her ... Like the kid got expelled for defending herself against racist bullies multiple times and Kyungchae's response is to send her back (to do what exactly? She got EXPELLED). If she was raised with that level of emotional neglect then geez, no wonder she turned out how she did!
It is nice seeing the parallel between miso and seri - one was raised with the love of her mother while the other was raised with the absence of it.
I feel like we're going to get Game of Witches level corporate chaebol shenanigans with this one. Especially since Soojung and Kyungchae aren't full sisters.
I'm enjoying Luda as Miso. And I absolutely love Miso and Seolhee's mother daughter relationship. It only means the revenge is going to be even sweeter when it kicks off. So far, I am liking it
Pretty sure the stabbing was a (day)dream sequence. Did you watch the preview for Monday?
I was actually surprised to see the preview tbh... Since dailies usually end on Fridays I thought that was the final episode 😶 (I was low-key glad to see it because I thought that was how the series was gonna end)
If anything I can see it being a dream sequence or she stabs her, Seonju survives, and SangA's prison sentence gets extended from 25 to life since she not only became a fugitive but committed a violent crime while doing so
This is the first time in a while I've seen a main daily poster with only the FL on it. I wish the main poster was the other one, where she is holding the rose but it is what it is lol

That's actually so fascinating that you got to visit North Korea in the 1980s. I was born in 1994 so that feels like a whole different world to me.
You're right. It really is fascinating

Guess we'll find out on Monday 😭
Just watched the trailer and sign me up!
