And btw, I fully expect the "I will expose you" line to be a day dream/dream sequence lol this wouldn't be the first time this drama has done that with a preview. I'm just so thirsty for the revenge to start 😭 in fact, I'll probably start watching an older daily and I bet I'll get to the revenge part faster than this drama will!
Right now, to me, Jihoon being threatened is the most interesting subplot. It could be the coworker, it could be Jeguk, or ... they could even be working together
Seeing all those unresolved plotlines all listed out like that is absolutely insane... But I needed to see it lol, I totally forgot about some of those events due to how off the pacing is (yes, even by daily drama standards)
Seran pulling a makjang classic move of the 2FL stealing the FLs work and presenting it as her own... I wonder if this will bring us back to the revenge or if Dajung's threat in the preview is all talk no action. I don't even care if Yohan and Dajung get together but at this point I'm ready for Dajung and Jeguk to divorce because the love triangle is weighing down the plot.
Btw, I agree with the commenters who think that the male coworker is blackmailing Jihoon. I wouldn't be surprised if he was the "body double"'s brother or something.
32 episodes left.... considering how much Seran has gotten away with, I for one am so curious to see what the final blow will be. What will it take to get her caught?
Any update ml fl dating?Any kissing update between them?
The FL is still married to the chairman and so they spent the last 10 or so episodes being angsty over this. However it seems like next episode (EP 91) they're teaming up for revenge.
From what I saw Seran and Sangchul were keeping it platonic, but I wouldn't be surprised if she got back with…
Honestly? Those scenes felt like unnecessary filler. We already know Sangchul and Seran are trash, writer, we want to see the "good" characters give them what they deserve. It's things that like that make me forget this is supposed to be a revenge drama
When are the subtitles available? Without them…imagination goes into overdrive. Another possible twist that…
From what I saw Seran and Sangchul were keeping it platonic, but I wouldn't be surprised if she got back with him after it's revealed that Jihoon killed Songyi
Today's episode was boring save for the messiness at the end with Jihoon and Seran. Not much was done on the revenge side (which is what I expected, the revenge has clearly taken a backseat to the love triangle's angst) but I must say the highlight of the episode was when Ms. Yang flexed on Aeja lol
Looks like tomorrow's episode will hopefully bring us closer to those dramatic reveals
I'm still watching this... - Jeguk is absolutely wild for ordering his nephew to get stabbed lol. It absolutely did have the opposite effect and brought Yohan and Dajung closer. And now that Dajung knows he is behind it, it will likely push them apart lol -i had to laugh at seran and her uncle thinking they could really get one over on Jeguk. You can never outsmart an evil chaebol CEO (unless it's at the very end of the series haha) I guess we won't be seeing the uncle for a while - Dajung's revenge has been extremely anticlimactic thus far, as someone who exclusively watches daily dramas I know about the pacing. I'm comparing this to other dailies such as The Promise or Miss MonteCristo, but I think a huge part of the anticlimacticness comes from the fact that Jung Dajung is still Jung Dajung. It's not like she's acquired a new identity, so there's none of that psychological torment from the villains who are confused as to if Dajung is really Dajung, (if that makes sense lol) even in dailies where the FL doesn't take on a new identity (Gold Mask) there are still ways she can have an active part in the revenge. I know she married CEO Wang for the power and authority he has (to aid in her revenge) but like I said, outside of becoming the team lead, having "MIL authority", locking seran in the wine cellar, caning her and getting her imprisoned (when she got out within a week), not much has been done. Hopefully that changes soon. - Seems like ever since Seran weaseled her way out of jail, the revenge has taken a backseat to the romantic drama between Jeguk, Yohan and Dajung + Anna's parentage being revealed. It definitely adds a new layer to the drama. Things will probably get exciting again when Seran finds out. -speaking of excitement, Jihoon killing Songyi was a twist I didn't see coming. It makes sense when you think about it. I've seen enough makjangs to know that money talks, especially when it comes from your evil makjang CEO. Things will get so messy when it's revealed - not only will this impact his relationship with Dajung, but also Seran. Not to mention Sangchul. I do wonder who is writing the letters though.... - Noel and Harin are annoying with their insistence on their respective Wangs. Harin way more. The story could've become more high stakes if Harins role was given to Susan (Yohan's ex-wife) as for Noel, I don't feel sympathetic to her drunk crying over a "playboy" (her words) who treated her wrong. -not going to lie I never actually got invested in the whole Noel amnesia plot. I'm fully expecting Dajung and Noel to reconcile when it's revealed that she's her daughter. - there have been subtle signs that bobae is tiring of Aeja and doubting Seran. I do sense aeja trying to stage a hostile takeover of Bobaejung. It's been predicted that bobae will have a heart attack/die. I hope not, but it's a very likely possibility. And if Aeja does stage her hostile takeover, Miss Yang better watch her back - side note, I can't believe it took me this long to realize that Mari and Aejas actresses were also in cahoots in The Second Husband as well haha
There's about 6 weeks of this drama left. 6 weeks to iron out the secrets that are starting to be revealed. If the reveals are handled properly and not rushed, this will be glorious. The pacing I admittedly had to get used to (I usually watch 100 ep makjangs, and I see now that the 20 episode difference really shows) but it's definitely better than the other revenge daily that's currently airing right now, there's way less obnoxious comedic relief in this one!
I finally caught up. And well, this drama has pretty low ratings (as of now, EP 3 is the highest rated at 8.7%) and I see why.... for starters, the writer took way too long to introduce Sungyoon. It honestly felt like Sandeul was the male lead and daily drama screenwriters can't seem to write a special needs character without making them annoying. And his disorder is so ambiguous but I'm not going to go into that lol. Btw this subplot of him having a crush on Hyeji is so unnecessary like who asked for this? The comedic relief in this show is unbearable and I'd imagine that's why people aren't tuning in.
Speaking of characters that are annoying af: I fast forward through 25-40% of the episode. I skip all scenes with Yira, Youngju and her husband, Sandeul, and Minsook/the father whenever they aren't discussing anything relevant to the plot. All these obnoxious characters and you choose to kill off Soohyang, one of the likeable ones... smart choice. I can still follow the plot even though I skip these scenes. What does that tell you lol
So far, my favorite character is the male lead. Hyeji and Kyungja are great villains and it's going to be funny when they inevitably turn on each other. I don't like Hyewon. She makes some... questionable decisions and doesn't seem to seem to care much about Jichang tbh. I actually really liked the scenes where Jichang called both Sandeul and Hyewon out for being self centered. Like come on, the man's mother just died and HW is ranting about the artist and bringing people to justice? Her being so secretive is annoying. You were so gungho about exposing doeun but your new lawyer friend who can actually help out is who you keep quiet to? lol
I'll keep watching this... at least until I have had enough and drop it. Literally Sungyoon is the only thing keeping me here, and his actor may gain a new fan. Hopefully things pick up soon because the last thing I want is for this to kill the KBS2 evening drama timeslot....
I don't get HW character. I feel bad for the actress because either the director isn't directing her or her character…
Agreed. Lee Soyeon can definitely act and pull off intense characters but the writer doesn't seem to have any idea what they're doing. Especially since I'm on episode 10 and the male lead hasn't shown up yet ... I feel like sandeul is supposed to be the male lead instead of the actual one!
Hyeji's revenge is keeping me tuned in... even tho I'm definitely fast forwarding whenever certain characters show up!
Admittedly, I'm only really watching this for Hyeji's antics (and Ivo 🥺). Hyewon is as vanilla as they come although it feels like most of the drama has been obnoxious side characters or pointless flashbacks.
I'll give it until the 33% mark and hope it picks up by then ... if not I'll just rewatch an older daily
Just like I said I would be back when that drowning scene happens and I'm gagged at who Dajung married. My guess was completely off, but this will surely lead to a very entertaining and very messy next few weeks lol
Is Elegant Empire any good? Atleast 96 of the 100 episodes have been released, so I may tune it as I wait for…
I've heard negative things about elegant empire (one of my twitter mutuals is livetweeting) so for the mean time I've been rewatching an older daily - Fatal Promise. I'm enjoying that one.
The drama I'm referring to in my original comment is called Without Blood or Tears starring Lee Soyeon!
Sure! Seijin gets into a car accident and loses her memory. Nayeon reunites with her dad (he acknowledges both as his daughters) and Yookyung goes to jail. Seijin and Taejun divorce and Taejun goes overseas and reunites with Sejin (who doesn't remember them) The second lead and Nayeon reunite after some time and it's an open ending that implies that they become a couple
And it's funny how aeja and seran can eavesdrop perfectly fine but whenever it's Dajung there's always some form of interruption 😂
Right now, to me, Jihoon being threatened is the most interesting subplot. It could be the coworker, it could be Jeguk, or ... they could even be working together
