I think this is missing a lot of backstories and it's feels like something is missing. Of course we can't get more details due to time limits. I just feel like I need more backstories like how the Deliverance coming into his possession and the explanation of the Starhaven Sect. Where was the Deliverance all this time and have other Sovereigns traded se nses before? How many ppl are in the Starhaven Sect and where does their power come from? Was Fang the fake Duan Xu and how was Duan Xu able to reclaim his status as the original son? Are these eplained in the novel?
I actually miss Simu's over-exaggerated acting when she was pretending in the beginning with Duan. It was so funny! Especially when she acted like a overly protective sister. I would love to see Dilraba in a funny rom-com like that. Like some kind of role where she's a spy or swindler playing different personas. I need her reunited with her "brother"!
halfway thru ep 27 idk why but i'm so pissed at simu rn, she rejected him very very brutally, and he left and…
Exactly! Like, can we have at least some respect for his feelings? She brutally dismisses him then waltzes back into his life when he finally decides to marry.
also why was she shown on the roof stealing wine and drinking it from the pot, she can't feel herself swallow,…
It's the other side characters that are so boring. Like the 5th Prince and the Consort. Their dialogues are so bad and their line delivery is off. Also, I feel that the whole pleasure house setting is unnecessary. Maybe that's the whole point though? To make us feel bored like Simu does when dealing with mortals.
Curiously, the FL is similar in looks to the Princess Agents FL. I might have recalled reading that the two leads,…
Yes, of course but her body build is so petite and small. She looks like she doing some ridiculous cosplay. I had a hard time with LOTFG but I still watched the whole thing, and now this one crowns that in terms of an unrealistic female general. The first actress in the original was questionable at first but she was more believable later. Mind you, I think the FL here has some potential but not for this particular role. I loved her in Perfect Match. That's just my perspective and I won't be watching this. Maybe because I watched the first one, I'm biased. I hope everyone else enjoys this though! To each their own!
Spoiler Alert!! Ep 27 do not read if you haven't watched it yet and don't want spoilers!! I like the actor, Ding Jia Wen, who plays the Prophet. I watched him in "Fated Hearts" and I really liked his transition from being a naive brother to a smart emperor. I'm glad to see him here. On the other hand, I'm not a fan of obsessive arcs. Yan Ke's character is so annoying. Also, by now we know who the fake Duan Xu is and it's kinda of annoying to see the sister falling for him. Like why would you be even interested in someone your brother hates and who is going out of his way to sabotage him? I don't know why Cdramas like writing characters who were like siblings, fall for each other? It's so uncomfortable watching those kind of relationships. Ewww. Anyways, the side characters like random spirits are boring to watch. I am enjoying both Reba and Arthur in this though.
I don't have issue with age gaps because some look great together. In this case? !๐ โโ๏ธ๐ โโ๏ธ๐ โโ๏ธ…
I totally agree. I mean the FL in the Legend of the Female General was a hard sell and now we have this tiny little girl. I did love her in Perfect Match but not in this one. I can barely watch her under all tha armour!
I loved the FL in Perfect Match but in this drama, she doesn't seem to fill the role. She's so tiny and drowning in the armoured clothing. Can't see her filling the role of the orginial Chu Qiao and I've watched the first drama. The role of Chu Qiao was such a large role to fill already and the FL here just doesn't have the right gravitas or aura to fill the role. I feel like it's a definite miscast. The guys are alright though. I don't think I'll continue watching this unfortunately.
I dropped during the skiing arc. It was so predictable and boring. Felt like I was seeing the same repetitive storyline. I felt the ML was always posing like a model. I find that CDramas are doing this a lot. They have the ML always with these "chiseled" looks but they're too frigid and stiff to do some "real" emotional acting with their facial features. Anyways, it started boring me so I dropped it. I'm not a fan also of boss and subordinate storylines.
I watched the first episode when it first came out and dropped it. But I just saw a post about it so I came to read the reviews and laughed when I read yours! I can't believe the amount of stabbings that Chinese dramas portray and then the leads miraculously survive them. Like even with today's technology, we'd be like, "Yeah, he dead dead. Save the medicine for someone else." ๐คฃ I just watched Fated Hearts and omg, the amount of stabbings and arrow damage everyone survived was ridiculous. Cdramas are getting way too carried away with these stabbings.
As someone who has followed the Chinese entertainment industry for quite a long time, I have to say this isnโt…
It totally agree with all of this and sometimes i feel like they're just putting him in dramas for his looks. It's like he's doing more modeling than acting. I mean, his eyeliner has game though! Lol! Those soldering glares! ๐ I dropped the Princess Royal near the end because I couldn't take how much screen time the SML was getting. It was ridiculous. And I'm still scratching my head at Qianqian's timeline and storyline amd how the baddie got rid of his disfigured facial burns. It's like the last 10 episodes are so rushed and smushed together.
I don't understand this writer. Intimate scenes when it's a toxic relationship or someone is drunk or drugged. Can't we just have a normal sober intimate scene. Was it written this way in the novel as well?
nses before? How many ppl are in the Starhaven Sect and where does their power come from? Was Fang the fake Duan Xu and how was Duan Xu able to reclaim his status as the original son? Are these eplained in the novel?
