I just finished episode 1 and I'm not really feeling the "real life" story. I'm glad to hear that things pick up once they get into the fictional world!
Downvoted because this is biased. Kim Jung Hyun is an actor that comes from a small agency and he's got a huge…
The nature of a review is biased. Your presented facts have nothing to do with how well an actor might fit their role. From my perspective, while I have enjoyed Kim Jung Hyun in other dramas, I just didn't find him to be fitting for the role. I think he fit better in other roles he has played.
I agree! The friendship and love between the soul of Bong Hwan and the King was what made the whole show for me.…
I'd also like to add that this drama sincerely challenged the way I perceive romantic love. It was something I had to acknowledge about myself, adjust to and push past so I could come to see the beauty of this love. Really well done on the writer's part for portraying love that had nothing to do with gender.

Right?! Although, I'm not sure if I could handle a tragedy for them either! Haha. But yes, I truly needed their romance to be acknowledged. By the end, I really felt their love for each other and then it was just ripped away! I needed to see Bong Hwan's happily ever after in the end.
I tend to get bored with simple romances unless there is something else to spice it up and action is the PERFECT way to spice up a drama for me! After reading your review, I think we value similar things in a drama so I have confidence in trying this one out. :3 Thank you!
don't worry ...nothing of that sort happens...he's too good to be transformed into a toxic person...
Oh that's such good news! Thank you! After reading through comments/reviews, it seems like people are upset with the ending. Is it a sad/bittersweet ending for the main couple?
I'm currently on episode 5 with no idea about it's ratings prior to starting. I realized in about episode 2 that this is truly a family drama, rather than a melo-romance. I actually really like that it isn't a melodrama. The slow burn romance is so realistic - it's really nice. I'm really hoping that Hae Hyo doesn't become bitter or malicious as things start to change for his best friend. I think that might ruin the story for me..
I was so excited to see this article! After being interviewed for Part 1 I was really interested in reading more…
I totally forgot to mention it in our daily convos of life hitting the fan! ^^ I'm so grateful to having been interviewed! It was such a rewarding experience! XD And for the record - I'm not predictable - you just know me THAT well :D
I'm a chronic dropper as well! I just... don't have the patience if I'm not enjoying something. That said, I rarely…
I've been there so many times! I have a bunch of dramas where I only have the last couple of episodes left but just don't finish the drama. I think you're onto something about the main conflict being over - I think I'm not on the edge of my seat anymore and so I get distracted by another drama and never come back to it. XD
Wow. I think you're my spirit animal! XD You're hilarious! I had a similar evolution in my K-drama watching. Don't get me wrong, I still love K-dramas, but I do NOT tolerate the dramas I'm just not feeling the way I did when I was a newbie. So glad to know I wasn't the only one to experience this K-drama watching evolution. I haven't had to courage to give dropped dramas a 2nd chance yet as a formal process. Your lack of success reaffirms my lack of confidence in that plan - those dropped dramas probably need to stay in the dropped graveyard, feeling guilty or not. XD
