Dramafever doesn't license all it's shows for all countries, because it costs them money. So not everyone can enjoy watching drama's "legally". Also if it wasn't for fansubs in the first place~ none of these companies would have been able to launch and make money, where as fansubs were usually done for free for the purpose of letting people enjoy productions from Asian countries.
I still miss fansubs~ they had more substance and less would get "lost in translation".
Ya'll need to watch episode 15 again. Truly watch the episode, without any expectations. I think only then will you appreciate the story and this drama. Don't watch it through the K-Drama goggles.
This drama is a definite 10/10 for me. I am totally looking forward to this writers next drama!
I too was upset about episode 14 ending, but then again this drama does like to mess with my giddy unrealistic expectations. I wanted it to go the usual cliche Kdrama way~ Se He confessing and all that jazz. But I think the drama is amazing for staying true to its self and going the more realistic approach.
It's so embarassing that Netflix are claiming it to be a 'Netflix Original' series lol!
The "Original" label has different meanings on Netflix: shows that are created and driven by Netflix, shows that are continuation properties like: Arrested Development or Gilmore Girls, and finally there are shows (Stranger) that Netflix is the sole distributor in said country (us/uk/aus/etc). Basically though, if it's branded as Original, Netflix paid a lot of money so you can watch it in whatever country it's available.
It actually isn't embarrassing at all. If it's extremely popular, they tend to fund continuation/spin-off seasons, where the original distributor/company wouldn't.
Great article! Though, why is 'crap' censored? My first reaction when seeing that was thinking it was…
Cherry you naughty naughty girl! To be honest... I thought it was that word also xD I had to re-read the sentence to see that it wasn't.
Fantastic article though! I agree that some remakes do much more with the original material, while others fall short. Before the new japanese version of itazura na kiss came out, my favourite version of that was It started with a kiss (TW version). It still is #1 for me, but the remake J-Drama was very nicely done.
Hana Yori Dango is the only J-Drama that no remake can outdo. It's just... you can't.. ok! Meteor Garden didn't do much for me :( Yes I watched it before and idk... the anime and manga were better. Still need to mark my to watched doramas @_@
